Wednesday Morning Oct 12th

Well Tuesday turned out to be rather nice after a chilly start with tons of sunshine and blue skies. I actually after lunch put on a pair of shorts and sat outside reading for a couple hours until the sun started to set. I finished cutting and splitting the downed hemlock tree and cleaned up the debris and piled it on the burn pile which kept me busy for most of the morning.

I started the day with a 6'ish roll out to my routines that start with some quiet time after posting this ramble and ended it with my solo hike to the top of the mountain as soon as day broke. It was chilly on the hike but Steve and I took a much longer hike after lunch which was just the opposite. We actually sweated a couple times on the pull up the steep back road. We never stopped except to study the views  on this hike. The colors on top of the mountain were awesome and very vivid. We saw no one on top.

I sat and read outside after getting back from the hike and Steve headed back down to his camp ground to dig some channels. I changed into shorts and sat and read until the gals all got back from Galax and then we decided to cleanup leftovers for supper. After the clean up we got into a game of 6 handed spades which takes a good couple hours to complete and once again the guys won handily. It was going on 9 so the Nymark's headed for home and we watched a little of the opening hockey game between the Lightning and the New York team. The Bolts were down 3-1 when I hit the shower and soon some horizontal lab at 10.

We are expecting another couple to arrive before lunch this morning so we will have a full cabin for a couple days. The Botbyl's are thinking of leaving Saturday which will give us some time with the Martello's and then the Nymark's are leaving Sunday and then we will spend the next week getting ready to leave until next summer.
