Well Monday was an historic day for us as grandparents as we now have a new grand daughter born last evening around 9:30 PM. We welcome to our life Eliza Faye Ross the daughter of Amy and Tyler Ross along with big sister Ava Mae and brother Samuel Tyler. Amy and Eliza are both doing fine at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida and we hope to visit with her today and bring her sibling as well as her paternal grandmother Cindy Ross who is visiting from Kansas with us. It should be quite a celebration.
The day started off much the unusual for me as I was at the Veterans Hospital for a blood draw after a fast at 7:00 AM. It was a bit nippy with temps just above the 40's mark. I wasn't there more than a total of 30 minutes so I made it to my pickle ball session about on time as I stopped off on my way back from the hospital. We had 2 full courts in play with some great action for over 2 hours. I had brought my vitamins, supplements and a banana to eat before play after fasting for the blood draw. I did start to feel a little tired towards 9:30 so I headed out after a wet shirt workout for the library before getting home around 10.
It had warmed up to 70 degrees by then with beautiful sunshine so I piddled around in the garden enjoying the warm sunshine until it was lunch time. Nancy had driven her mother to the grocery and after she got back we had wraps for lunch. I picked a nice mess of green beans(picture at the end of the ramble) and a 1/2 dozen teardrop tomatoes along with some basil and dill for Amy who was coming by for them. She was making stuffed grape leaves for her family and Cindy. Seems she missed getting to have any before heading off to the hospital to deliver Eliza(at that time they had no idea if it was a William or Eliza).
We headed out around 5'ish to GG's as niece Erica and her family which includes 5 boys and 2 girls were coming for a visit to GG's. They were supposed to be there for supper but got delayed in Naples and it was nearly 8 before they arrived. We ate a supper of meat loaf, baked spuds, fresh broccoli that GG made and a garden salad and chocolate chips cookies that we provided. Betsy came by after work as well. We had been getting progress reports from the hospital all evening and when we decided to leave GG's for home is when Amy delivered. Tyler had his phone out in the recovery room and we could hear Eliza airing out her lungs which is a good sign. She seems to have healthy ones from what we could determine from the sounds she was making.
Well after a hot shower I watched a little T.V. then read until the sand man cometh and it was lights out around 11, LATER
