Well Wednesday saw us with a mixture of jobs and chores before we traveled to Galax, Va. for shopping at Lowes and Wal-Mart then lunch out at Mcadoo's. We got back on the mountain around 2'ish and commenced to working once again as we make ready for Bobby and family later today(Thur.) and then Amy's family on Friday. I fired up the weed whacker and spent the next 2 hours on all of the yard, gardens and driveway. Afterwards the weather held as there was a chance of thunder storms but it remained clear so I mowed for the next 2 hours and got done around 7 PM.
The day started with my usual 6'ish roll out and then my morning routines with my cup of hot turmeric drink, a few quiet moments with my Creator and then a lite breakfast before heading out to wander the yards and gardens. Everything looked great and the morning temp's were in the high 50's, yikes it was rather chilly despite no breeze. Nancy was even awake as we wanted an early start before heading out around 10:30. She had two loads of laundry on the line and I had the trash that won't burn loaded up in the back of the truck for the dumpster.
We stocked up once again and both fridges and freezers are packed full as well as most of the cabinets and pantry's. We put the plastic orange mesh fence up around the porch pailings to keep the kiddos from slipping through especially Eliza faye. The ground is a good 12-15 feet below the deck. That is one job we do not like to do as our finger tips become raw from twisting the wire ties that hold the fence in place. We have been using the same orange construction fence for years and it does a great job and still doesn't take away from the esthetics of the cabin porches.
Well lunch was awesome and next time we will share an entree as the portions are so large. Nancy has a cheeseburger the old fashion way and prepared perfectly and I had the club which was huge and so good and we both had fries which was a mistake as we left about half on the plate. We both decided to use Patrick and Kathryn playbook for eating out and sharing plates plus we need to cut down on our portion. That sandwich held me the rest of the day except for a handful of peanuts about 8 PM after mowing.
Well the yards and gardens are just beautiful after mowing and Nancy took a couple of photos. It's hard to describe the serenity and peacefulness as well as the smell of fresh mowed grass when a place is manicured and nestled back into the rugged mountain woods. We continue to pinch ourselves daily when admiring this beautiful part of God's Creation and that we get to share it with family and friends, LATER
