Friday Morning Sept 5th

Well Thursday saw us with some odd weather after a chilly start, not real cold but long sleeve and and pants were needed at first and then a storm came up with severe gusts of wind that blew down my pole beans and several tomato's lined up along the porch railing as well as dropped a half inch of rain in about 30 minutes, wow what a storm and how suddenly it came up. I sure thought for a moment it was a tornado and might well have been as several buildings in its path lost roofs near our area.

I had started the day with my usual 6'ish rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort snd healing, all seem to be holding with this post. On a sad note we will attend and old friends funeral today in Sparta who built this cabin we so enjoy and share with family and friends. He and his family were once a big part of our lives when they lived just across the woods from us, but eventually had to move away and we didn't see him or his wife very often.

I was still recovering from my bout of diarrhea the evening before and did not feel a 100% even though I didn't have any more issues just not up to par and so I did very little during the day except some minor gardening chores and honey do's but mainly read on my 800+page book I picked up Wednesday from the library. I'm now over half way finished and I'm enjoying every word for a change as I'm normally a speed reader some where around 1500 words a minute, but I so enjoy this story and take in every word and the settings which are thrilling to say the least, especially for me. I would have loved to live during that time period and take that cattle drive north to Montana, one state I never visited, oh well.

We ate lite for the day with some cereal and a banana and blueberries for breakfast for me and then some banana nut bread around 2'ish which held us until supper at 6, which was some fried smoked ham and a sweet tater doctored up with some cinnamon and honey for me and a sliced tomato and cucumber. I had no tummy issues with any of those during the day or evening. I think it was the chicken sandwich during the afternoon on Wednesday that was the issue, but curious as to why it took about 7 hours to hit me with throwing up and diarrhea so violently.

The sudden storm did a number on the gardens knocking over my 9 foot tall bean poles which in turn broke off three of the 10-11 foot sun flowers that edged the upper gardens as well as blew over the squash plants and jalapeno plants. I'm hoping to salvage some of the beans which were about really to harvest if the vines die, so far they are still green but their support poles are being held up with a rope to a post. After supper I headed out to activate the deer devices and then settled into reading until 8 when I hit the shower as I wanted to watch half of the first NFL game of the season. The Eagles were winning at half time in a close game. I soon hit the sack and read until 10'ish then it was lights out for me, LATER
