Tuesday Morning Sept. 2nd Dorian is still on going

Well I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day get togethers except for those on the east coast of Florida as they anxiously awaited the track Dorian was going to take. The Bahamas's is probably no longer the playground of the tourists as Dorian spent several hours visiting those islands. I never had the chance to visit there but from what my friends tell me it was a paradise on earth. Those folks sure will need some prayers and help after this weather event. It looks as if the west coast of Florida will be spared once again from this horrific storm.

I started the day with a sleep in once again until 7:30. I think the past two days and a late Saturday night finally caught up with me, plus the several hours in the bright sunshine took it's toll as well. I did my usual morning routines that always start with a handful of Nutrilite vitamins and supplements washed down with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet moments with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All seem as well as can be expected but I did learn an old FHP buddy's wife passed away suddenly. Becky was much younger than me and I'm shocked. I got to know them quite well before they transferred out of Pinellas County to the panhandle of Florida.

I piddled around in the gardens and yards until it was time to take a hike to the top of the mountain. It was another beautiful day with a breeze however the humidity was starting to creep back into the picture so Nancy had the a/c on as we were expecting guests for supper around 4'ish. I helped with the vacuuming and getting ready for them but we did keep up with what the storm Dorian was doing which was sitting atop the Bahama Islands wrecking havoc for hours. We were hoping it would stay off shore and blow itself out but this powerful Cat 5 hurricane with winds sustained at 185 mph was going no where. The models had it finally moving overnight north and hopefully east away from the mainland. It's possible we could see some rain from it later this week here in the mountains.

I grilled peppers and onions and then a marinated sirloin steak and chicken breasts for our fajitas's and along with yellow rice and black beans we ate "high on the hog". We of course had salsa and chips, guacamole and pico de gallo to start the gastric juices flowing and brownies with homemade whipped cream and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Yikes its no wonder I have a spare tire. I did try to eat lite during the day with just an apple for breakfast and the left over veggie soup for lunch but the dinner was delicious and the dessert was decadent.

Patrick and Kathryn  came around 4'ish them Gerald and Kay around 5'ish and Mechelle sometime around 7'ish as she was at the drag strip with her boyfriend. They finished early so she came by for supper and then played a hand or two of Sequence with us. The boys once again put a whupping on the gals in the best of 5 games with a 3-1 victory. Twice in a row which is unheard of for us. They all left before dark as it was a work day for some so Nancy and I cleaned the dishes and put the cabin back in order. I watched some of the US Open until shower time and the weather channel during commercials. Dorian was still stationary off the coast of Florida. I did get in the Ray's game during the afternoon against the Orioles and they won in extra innings after blowing a 4-0 lead, oh well. It's always exciting with this club and we are still in the race for a wild card slot for the upcoming playoffs, LATER

Also, for those of you who use the Nutrilite Products and the Amway detergents our team leader has extended the BOGO offer until the 8th due to Dorian. That means any and everything in the web site is BOGO (buy one get, get one free). Check out my store at www.amway.com/JNTriplett to make an order. I've been using the Nutrilite Products that are produced here in the USA for years and they are the best.
