Saturday

Well Friday was one of the wettest days we've had in many moons and rather chilly to boot. It may have reached the upper 50's but it was so damp and cold it felt even colder. We slept in as I was not going to the rec but we were going to Tampa where we would attend the funeral of a 4 year. It's not that often that occurs but little Joey passed last week from liver failure and the medical team could not find a reason for that malady.

The service was very heartwarming with huge bunches of balloons as Joey loved the movie UP and each person was to fill out a post card about an adventure they would go on and think about Joey. Balloons were passed out to each person in attendance. There were some funny stories about the lives touched by this 4 year old as well as lots of tears and hugs. A video was shown with him and the people in his life and set to music from his favorite movies. There was a huge crowd of folks from Element plus lots of out of town folks as well. Bobby did a nice job with this service and even he was broke to tears at times as we all were.

We headed back to Seminole on the cross town toll road as I-275 was bumper to bumper on our way over to Tampa around 9:30. We stopped at a super Wal-Mart in Pinellas Park and picked up a few items that we only find there at half the cost before stopping at GG's. Amy was there with the kiddos and we finished up the last of her bean soup and ate some cornbread for lunch before heading out around 2'ish for home. It was still raining and a cold rain at that. We decided to spend the rest of the afternoon reading and relaxing. I'm still battling a chest cold with a cough so I've been taking some cough syrup with an expectorant which seems to be working. Not working out on the pickle ball court for a couple days should help as well.

Nancy made salmon patties along with some brown rice and black beans for supper and that was yummy as I loaded mine up with fresh cilantro, thyme and dill from the garden. Tomorrow(Sat) I'm going to smoke a 13 pound turkey in my electric smoker and this will be a first for me over a bed of hickory wood and a Yuengling beer in the rear. We just settled into the Fox News channel after the clean up until the Gold Rush show came on so I vegetated in the bedroom watching and reading during commercials while she flipped in the other room. It wasn't long until I was reading the inside of my eye lids around 11, LATER
