Tuesday Morning Dec 17th

Well Monday was another nice day here in sunny Florida with temps into the upper 70's and maybe even low 80's by the afternoon. Nancy had the A/C on most of the day as it was a work day around the house and yards as we were entertaining our life group for supper, games and gift exchange; however only two other couples made it due to illnesses and other issues. Nancy had made two kinds of soups, Zuppa and Chicken plus a huge garden salad with crusty bread of which we have enough leftover when we have the Nymark's and Botbyl's over on Thursday for supper and games. I did all kinds of honey do's around the house, some yard and garden work and kept busy all day long. My back and leg held up nicely as well.

I had started the day with a 6'ish rollout to my usual routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding with this post. I ate a banana for breakfast before heading out to hand water the gardens and do some hoeing and weeding. The green beans are loaded with blooms as are the tomatoes. We should have plenty of both in a week or so. All of the lettuce seedlings have added leaves and now the collards need harvesting as well. I did harvest a nice mess of kale for the Zuppa soup as well as fresh dill and Thai basil for the salads.

I even washed windows and screens as we got ready for company when several called and said they couldn't make it. Thankfully we had plenty because folks were supposed to bring soups, salads and desserts but we had plenty when Nancy decided to make a second delicious chicken vegetable soup and we always have plenty of leafy greens from the garden. The Bards and Botbyl's each brought the desserts they signed up for and they were delicious. We after eating played 4 rounds of hand, knee and foot and the guys were on tonight with the final score some where close to 65K to 29K. We didn't even add the final round as we were getting all types of cards. It was going on 10 when ever one left after playing a new game of exchanging small gifts that Carol thought up. I ended up with a devotional book and Nancy ended up with our gift we brought to the party which was a smelly candle and Chick filet gift card. The 6 of us had a grand time and plan once again some time the end of January as our schedule to host is just too busy with basketball games etc. LATER
