Wednesday Morning Dec 13th

Well Tuesday was another busy day with pickle ball for two hours in the morning then some garden work and after lunch helping Nancy with washing dishes, pots and pans as she baked cookies all afternoon and finally off to SRBC for Eliza's Christmas concert with another close to 800 folks in attendance.

I started the morning with my well before 6 roll out to my usual morning routines that begin with some quiet time to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift several up by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding as of this post. Nancy spoke with our mountain mom Helen and its very cold there and she is hanging on with these cold days but wishing she were in warmer temps. She wants to stay in her beautiful cabin as long as possible despite age creeping up on her. She is a tough gal.

I headed out on my bike on this chilly morning with temps in the upper 40's as my eyes watered all the way to the Rec from the wind. I got in some great play and had a good workout as I'm trying to get down to my goal of 185. I still have a few to go but I'm feeling full of energy now that I'm not carrying the 10 pounds around that I lost. It's tough but I'm loving the effects with more energy and some slimed down tummy.

I got around to eating those collards I fixed a couple days ago and I must tell you that is the way to go. Fix them a day or so ahead and let them set in their juices of bacon, chicken broth and onion and then reheat them and my oh my what a flavorful dish. They were so good with a little apple cider vinegar and hot sauce. From now on I'll cook them that way and let them set at least over night or better a couple of nights. I cleaned up some pasta for supper and had a Caesar salad from the garden. Today I need to harvest lettuces and other leafy greens for the salad bowl.

I changed out some seats on the shower and did some piddly honey do's before we headed out to the concert at SRBC. The place was packed with family of second graders thru 5th grades. The kids put on a nice concert with a play and lots of singing as they were packed with energy. We saw lots of old friends as well that we hadn't seen for many moons. A grand time was had. Ava mentioned they won their game on Monday since we couldn't go and now has two games starting Friday night and then again on Saturday at Keswick which we will attend, LATER
