Well its still rather hot and muggy here in Florida but there was another front this evening which is supposed to bring some cooler temps which will be welcomed. We attended Ava's basketball game in north Clearwater this afternoon and the team won by 30 points. She played great on defense and made several assists but so far her shots can not find the bottom of the net.
I started the day with my usual 6'ish roll out and a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator. All seem well with those I lift up daily and I did get to speak with Paw Paw later in the evening. He had been over to the VA for a check up and finally got a steroid shot for his shoulder which has been hurting him for months. Hopefully that will end or help with the pain he has been complaining about. He seemed in good spirits as he approaches his 91st birthday on the 8th of this month. We also spoke with our "mountain mom" Helen who is doing as well as can be expected for 90 plus years as well. She still lives alone and looks after her brother and sister as they all live within a few miles of each other. She has been suffering from a cold but seemed to be on the mend.
I headed out around 9'ish or so for the rec. and played pickle ball until nearly noon as we have the gym and extra couple hours on Tue. and Thurs. We A players can have some excellent play without the B players which we must mingle with the other three mornings. Several of the B's are playing well and some could move up to our status. I had a great workout and came home to work in the garden for a few before Amy and Eliza came for lunch. Amy now works but had a doctor's visit so she had the day off and she came for lunch which we use to do every day. Eliza had school for half a day and she is so cute and maturing.
I read for a couple hours after they left then we got ready to leave the house for the drive to north Clearwater which took nearly 45 minutes to Lakeside Christian School. I never knew this school existed but they had a large gym and play in the christian school circuit basketball league. It was 20-2 at half time as our girls are really playing great ball. Their only loss was to a Tampa team of 7th and 8th graders whereas our girls are mainly 6th graders. Two of the better players on the team also play pickle ball at the rec. a couple times a week as they are that good of an athlete. Their dad who is one of the coaches is an excellent A player and brings them as they are home schooled and adopted. We really love them and their attitudes as well as their ability as athletes.
We brought Ava back with us after the game as both Amy and Tyler had commitments with Eliza at dance and Sam at Jiu Jitsu. Ava had supper with us before Amy picked her up and then they had to be at SFBC at 7 for rehearsal for the Christmas program she is in, plus she now has tons of homework being in middle school. She is such a sweetheart as well and loved by all of her classmates as well as teammates.
After the cleanup I watched a little of the Fox Cable news then tuned into the Lightning game after a shower. I must have fallen asleep and was soon ready for some horizontal lab before 10, LATER
