Well Tuesday's weather was the reason we come to the mountains during the summer. Unbelievably perfect temps, no humidity with bright sunshine with an occasional large white cloud, lots of sunshine and a slight breeze. Just beautiful. I'm doing a little better psyche it wise, after finally finding a doctor who is taking new patients in the Sparta. He is only here Wed.and Thurs. so I made an appointment on Thur. for a follow up on this blood clot and hopefully a refill on this script which is necessary when using this drug Eliquis. I must also sign up for the plan C now that I'm using this expensive drug which runs about 250 bucks a week. I'll just bet if I was an illegal immigrant it would be free to the patient, oh well thats for another time.
I started the day with rolling out before 6 to my usual routines that always start with the hot tea and then some quiet time to honor my Creator and lift up several for comfort and healing. I must say once again I'm blessed with a great family and friends. I'm on the mend again which I'm not use to saying as I've been blessed over the years with rather good health, oh well.
I did fire up the riding lawn mower and mowed about half of the yards then took a break, walking for a few so as to keep the blood from pooling while sitting on the mower. I must say with those 9 trees gone from the backwoods yard that chore is much easier and wow does it ever look good, freshly mowed. The grasses are starting to cover the bare spots as well despite some mulch still within the holes where the stumps were ground down. Nancy piddled around in her flower beds, dead heading the daisy's and thinning out them as well. I must say we grow the best weeds and grasses in the flower beds.
I harvested another zucchini as well as noticed several more cucumbers about ready for harvesting. I have them together in the circle drive bed and they are doing just fine there. We have the tamest wild rabbits ever as each morning and evening they let you walk up within 2 feet of them. Something got into my compost pile overnight and leveled it looking for earthworms. I believe it was a skunk and they ate every worm in the pile. I had some really nice fishing worms ready for a trip to our "mountain moms" pond which is loaded with bass and blue gill, oh well.
That was about it for the day as we did take a golf cart ride to the mailbox and saw our twin fawn's along the way. They are so cute at this age but very destructive when they eat your garden and flowers down. We got even last night as we finished up the leftover delicious grilled deer burgers that neighbor Gerald blessed us with. He and his cousins harvest several from our land and the area each Fall. We both thought their eating of our gardens were why they tasted so good on your plate. Anyhow we have plenty of them in the area and hopefully we will continue to have an abundance of their delicious meat for the table.
Well after not sleeping well on Monday night due to the diagnosis of the clot and then not finding anyone who would see me in a week for a follow up on the scripts, last nights rest was the best in awhile. I noticed the ankle and foot swelling this morning(Wed)has decreased to almost normal. I'm thankful once again that I'm showing some progress due to this drug and on the mend to healing as well as with the back doing better. Nancy keeps reminding me I'm not a spring chicken any longer which is the most difficult part of aging as I still feel like a teenagers with plenty of energy, LATER
