Wednesday Morning August Second

Well Tuesday was another busy day that found me in the basement cleaning up after the water heater install. A lot of water from the old heater was colored with the red mud from the well and it had dried all over the basement floor plus the old heater had a couple hundred pounds of mud caked inside t the bottom. We never suspected any mud in the water or saw any but I'm now glad I installed a filter to the water coming into the house from the well. I'm surprised it still heated so well after being there for nearly 25 years. It was all both of us could do to get it on the back of the golf cart and then transfer it to the back of the truck. I had to use some "country boy" engineering by using the steep hill at neighbor Gerald's place to roll it down the hill and onto the truck using some boards to bridge the gap. It worked and we took it to the town dump and rolled it off; job done.

We did our usual morning routines and our quiet times before I headed down stairs after a breakfast of oatmeal and fresh fruit. I believe since I've been on my feet and up and down these hills I've lost a little around the spare tire as my pants have become a little loose around the waist. I noticed I'm now doing the steep back trail on our hike with just one rest stop. We got in a good hike around 4'ish as the overcast skies made the temps perfect for hiking. We did make a rather long stop with Joe and Jetta and she blessed us with a slice of "sponge cake" right out of the oven. Delicious and so lite in texture. We also prepared our two green tomatoes she blessed us with for our supper. Fried green 'maters are so good and Nancy does them right with a little cayenne pepper sprinkled on as well. Great appetizers! We licked the platter clean and they now have become one of our favorite dishes. We cleaned up the last couple of leftover dogs with the chili on top for our supper.

We took off on a golf cart ride to the top to visit with our new young friend Jamie and her puppy Blue. We had a great visit as we wore him out. He is so smart and loving and he climbed right up into my lap after I quit chasing and rough housing with him. He still has his puppy teeth and occasionally a nip but stops as soon as you scold him. He and Jamie are made for each other and have become so close. What a beautiful animal and we think he will be a large one with his Great Pyrenees and Lab mix pedigree. We headed home and the night air had suddenly turned chilly; so I closed up the house and we settled into the Tucker Carlson Show on the FOX Cable News. I like Tucker and his interviews are great with exposing the hypocrisy of the Dem's and the liberals.

I tuned into the Ray's game via the Net and they were leading 5-2 when I decided it was hot shower time and then some horizontal lab around 10:30, LATER
