Sunday Morning June 14th...Fathers Day

Well Saturday started out as another work day as we were busy with catching up on house cleaning, washing sheets and comforters inside with Nancy and me outside in the yards and gardens as well as some honey do's and in the early evening we were invited to a going away with family and friends Caleb Dalton who is being activated to Qatar with his unit. We have known him since he was just a small lad and while his mom and dad split we have remained friends with both over the years, more so with his mom's side of the family as she and Nancy are horse lovers. Andy was always a friend and great fisherman and hunter and blessed us once again with fresh fish from his freezer before we left the get together last evening.

I did my usual morning routines that begin with some quiet times to honor Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding with this post. I headed out to check on the gardens and flower beds and all look great, just maybe the deer deflectors are working as no tracks in the gardens and no damage. I did notice more beans are up as well as lots of wild flowers showing some color in the beds. After a breakfast of avocado toast and a tomato that was going bad I headed out to work in the gardens; sowing some different veggie and flower seeds in hopes they make. I took some chicken wire and fabricated a fence between the peppers and the cucumbers so they could grown up and on it and hopefully keep the vines from spreading. Last year I had them in the backwoods patch but decided to put them in the upper garden this year. I piddled around outside until lunch time which was a salad and some leftover grilled chicken breast. We are cleaning up the many leftovers from last week as well.

It clouded up and we heard some thunder and maybe a few drops of rain but nothing enough to wet the gravel which we expected to fall through out the evening. We headed to Sparta around 6'ish to meet with several young friends of Caleb at his dad's( Andy) house where we ate grilled burgers and played some corn hole. Both Caleb and his dad and grandfather(Gerald) taught me the game and they were great players. Andy and I beat a couple young buddies in a close match. We prayed over Caleb before leaving in hopes he does well and comes back in one piece.

Well the Rays were losing when we left for Andy's place but I checked the scores and they won again in N.Y. and the Panthers in south Florida won over the Oilers in Canada to take a 3-2 lead in the Stanley Cup finals. It wasn't long after a hot shower it was horizontal time for me, LATER Today is corporate worship dat at Cornerstone in Sparta and some internet worship before heading out with Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Va.
