Well Sunday found me ferrying Nancy and Chris to church as I stayed back due to this chest cold. I did manage to hear the message on line which was awesome. I mainly tried to get a few things done for Nancy as she wanted the house spic and span for the house full of family coming for supper later in the evening. She and Chris took off around 2'ish for the funeral home where there was to be a viewing for her mom until sometime close 8.
Bobby and Katie came and they took off around 3'ish and then came back around 5'ish or so and started putting together wonderful meal for around 15 folks that started with roasted Brussel sprouts which were fabulous, orzo, roasted marinated pork tenderloins and some other concoctions I had no idea how to pronounce but were so delicious. We were eating around 8:30 which is quite late for me but the wine was flowing and tales were being told that started to lightening up the solemness of the occasion. I wasn't the only one suffering from a cold as Betsy's Gus was sick as well but he went to the viewing and will skip the funeral. I'm going to try to make the funeral this morning as I had a good nights sleep after taking a dose of expectorant and hit the sack before 10. I put in my ear plugs and tuned out the crowd that was still in the party mode here until who knows when. Apparently Errol was putting together a video of pictures of GG to be shown today at the funeral and they all viewed that several times during the evening after I went to bed.
Well it was great to see Austin who travel down from Charlotte alone but will be moving to our area later this month as he is just an exceptionally fine young family man who now will be the CFO of one of the largest businesses here in the bay area. Bobby is just such an organizer along with Arianne as they made lots decisions to make this sad occasion a joyous one, LATER
