Christmas Morning Tuesday

Well Monday was a fun day as we traveled to Brandon to have a late lunch/dinner with Katies family with all the trimming much like a Thanksgiving feast and afterwards we visited on Davis Island the church where Bobby was leading worship for the candle lite service. Several of our friends attended there with us and then afterwards we headed home a rather out of the way route as we missed the entrance to the cross town but the traffic wasn't too bad and we got to see a part of Tampa we had never traveled in before albeit was dark.

I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my usual routines that always start with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble and lifted up several during my quiet time. All seem well as can be expected for their age and health issues some of which will probably never be resolved but I continue to lift them up for a miracle to my Creator.

Amy and family arrived safely and their grandparents out there are thrilled and having some wonderful time with them. It looks like its cold there as it was here this morning with temps in the low 40's but it warmed to the low 70's with bright sunshine. We actually got in several corn toss games while waiting for the aunt of Katie to arrive for lunch. It was the first time I've throw the bags since October and it showed but the shade was inviting from the hot sun as it was that warm outside.

Lunch/dinner was about 2 hours late and thus that meal lasted us until this morning breakfast when we have the Botbyl's down for our traditional Christmas morning brunch/breakfast. It will be just the 4 of us this year as Bobby will get the kiddos for supper and Amy and family are gone. We will have a large group for a rib roast supper as Bobby and Family along with Betsy's family will come. We missed the Christmas eve gathering of family and friends with soups and sandwiches and thus a few more pounds which in a way is a blessing. I've added some girth to the spare tire since being back from the mountains and my daily up hill hike. It's usually the pickle ball play which keeps me trim and slim to around 180 but not this year as I ate more than my share of the Christmas baking and the suppers out with friends has really taken its toll on my weight with an additional 8-10 pounds, yikes. I must start the New Year with no desserts which I can do easily with my will power. I stayed away from the dessert table yesterday but those delicious can't eat just one pecans in a cinnamon sugar is devastating to my taste buds and my waist, oh well.

Well that was about it for the day. I did manage to hand water the gardens before heading out to Brandon yesterday and sprinkle some 7 dust on the collards to keep the squirrels from eating away. They(collards) are finally showing some growth and in the next week or so I'll have a meal from them. The lettuces took a beating from all the rain but I'm hoping the recently sowed seeds will mature.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and here wishing the best for a NEW YEAR, LATER
