Well since I rambled big last night so I will keep this one short and sweet. This is the second wake up here and I must confess I did over sleep this morning until nearly 6:30 which is a big first for me in many a moons. The 14 hour or so work day yesterday had something to do with it as well. The stillness of the morning is broken only by the birds singing off into woods and the sound of the dew dripping onto the tin roof. The sun is still hiding behind the mountain and we won't actually see in until mid-morning which has us with wakeup temps in the high 50's.
I checked on all of the seedlings I set out yesterday and from what I can see from the porch and deck it looks as if all of them are standing erect despite their wilted positions yesterday afternoon. My legs are already feeling the effects of walking on uneven land and the extra trips yesterday up and down the hill had them feeling like the wilted seedlings looked, yikes it does take some getting use to this uneven ground.
I stayed up last evening and watched our Tampa Bay Lightning team beat the New York Rangers 2-0 in the final game of their series and now they will play in the best of 7 games for the coveted Stanley Cup. I know a couple of my pickle ball buddies had season tickets this past year so they will get to see our team in that series; its much like the super bowl except there will be at least 4 games to watch unlike the super bowl where its one game and winner takes all. Hockey has the most athletic players in any sport in my opinion and its exciting to watch as a spectator I think even on the tube; but in person its twice as exciting, oh well!!
Well I'm going to sign off as we need to head to Galax, Va this morning and order a new washer as well as a battery for my work horse the golf cart as well as some plants and flowers. We slept last night with one window open under a sheet and comforter without any fans on. It was so nice and a bit chilly for a change and stillness is just almost too still, LATER
