A Foggy Sunday Morning in Florida

Well Saturday started out rather calm around the house until early afternoon when all of that changed with the arrival of Bobby and his kiddos, Annsley and Gabriel. Things liven up considerably with their young bodies that seem to be in perpetual motion as we watched them overnight and as I write they have awakened are back into their usual state once again. Yikes, were do they get all of this energy?

We slept in until 7'ish as we both seem to be finally seeing some relief from this head cold as well as Nancy is doing much better with her issue as well. All of her tests came back normal except for a malady that antibiotics can take care of so we are thankful for those results as well. We had a nice semi-mountain breakfast with a sausage an egg burrito to start the gastric juices flowing after our usual morning routines. After the cleanup I headed out to hand water the gardens and piddle around in the yards. I decided to skip pickle ball this Saturday as I wanted to give this body another couple days to build up my reserve for next weeks play.

The recently transplanted lettuce and kale seedlings are doing well and the Zinnias I moved into the ground look good as well. They are a hearty flower as they mature but are real touchy when transplanting them for some reason when seedlings. I decided while Nancy was at the store to read for awhile under the oak in the back yard and started a new Sandra Brown read titled FAT TUESDAY. It takes place in New Orleans and has started out as a page turner. I really like the way she writes and her story lines are the best ever.

Bobby and the kiddos arrived a little after 1 PM. Nancy had made cut out cookie dough so after Bobby headed to Orlando for a business social event Nancy and the kiddos cut out cookies and then decorated them. I helped with cleaning up the dishes and the mess. The kiddos then ran around flying homemade kites in the back yard as the sugar cookies kicked in until it was time to head out for some shopping. We wanted to take them to buy their daddy some Christmas presents from them so we headed to Walmart and they were so excited to be the ones who picked out his gifts. Nancy later wrapped them as they want to put them under his tree.

We then went to the Treasure Island Fun Center and what a hoot that place is. They had a grand time riding kiddie rides, trying to win trinkets from games of chance and skill and shooting monsters on the river boat ride of which Gabriel and I spent nearly an hour playing and feeding this video game tokens. The kiddos finally checked out their coupons for some some toys and candy before stopping off to pick up a pizzas on the way home. We ate pizza and salad and then they played with their prizes until it was bath time. Afterwards they played until their bedtime and we were exhausted. I managed to stay awake long enough to watch the FSU game and then it was horizontal lab for me, LATER
