Well Monday morning found me in Galax,Va. to have the truck serviced while I did some shopping at Walmart and then over to Lowes for some pelletized lime to spread on the yards. The moss keeping growing and supposedly lime helps with sweetening the soil which moss doesn't do well in as it likes the acid PH of the soil. Anyhow after doing my errands in town I came back for a work day until around 4'ish when we were expecting the Tracy's for supper.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my routines that start with a hot cup of green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble and the spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. Nothing changed with those I regularly lift up for healing and comfort except for a couple of new folks from here on the mountain. Nancy's mom GG is still in Michigan but is starting to have shortness of breath from her condition and is using oxygen more often and Paw Paw is starting to look his 90 years of age but is still living alone until middle sister Pat gets back from Oregon then he will go and live with her in W.Va.
I had a quick sandwich for lunch then loaded up the spreader and covered all of the yards with a good coat of lime. Walking behind the spreader up and down these hills was as good as a hike plus the heat and humidity have come back into the picture once again for the last hurrah of summer heat. It should start cooling down like last week with the end of August approaching. I also trimmed some higher branches on the pines that border the driveway and shut the sun from reaching the blueberry bushes. That kept me busy for another hour or so and left me soaked with sweat. It was time to cool off in the basement and then I washed up as the Tracy's were coming at 4'ish for supper.
We enjoyed a little vino with our pre supper snacks of fresh homegrown cucumber slices and dip, cheese sauce with chips and guacamole, yeow. We could have skipped the salad and soup as the snacks were awesome. Nancy had a pot of Zuppa tas Cano soup which is what Olive Garden serves as one of their signature soups. We used our garden kale and it was delicious to say the least along with a fresh all garden salad and crusty bread loaded with homemade apple butter my dear friend Linda Cather blessed us with last week. What a feast to say the least. After the clean up we settled into a game of Spades to 500 with the guys vs gals and it was nip and tuck until the last hand when the guys prevailed by a score of 501 to 497, yeow was that ever a fun game and raucous as well. After the Tracy's left around 8'ish we checked out the gardens then settled in after a shower and some social media. It was horizontal lab for me at 10'ish LATER
