Well Amy and family left before lunch and made it safely to Tennessee where they will spend a week with Tyler folks and family and the cousins will have a grand reunion. We are dog sitting Rocky who loves it here at the cabin and is quite happy, although he was into their leaving thinking he was going with them. We put him in the basement before they pulled out and he just laid around the rest of the day and evening as we went to our couples Bible class and was gone for 3 hours or so.
I had started the day with my usual before 6 rollout and routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding with this post. I headed out while everyone was still in the sack to stretch on the back porch before walking around the yards and gardens checking on any deer damage and how the garden was progressing and maturing. No deer damage but did see where the little green worms were attacking my kale plants so I sent a few of them to packing under my thumb and then tore off the leaves they had damaged. The cucumbers and yellow squash are a day away from harvesting and the 'maters are now as large as tennis ball and should start ripening. The jalapeno's are large enough to harvest as well and of course the leafy greens need harvesting once again.
Nancy had a huge breakfast for everyone before they hit the road. The big issue for the Ross family was no syrup for the pancakes, so everyone who originally wanted the cakes now changed their minds but I saved the meal as who ever put the syrup away had it hidden in the cupboard. Anyhow we had link sausage, pancakes and eggs which held me the rest of the day until 4'ish when we had leftovers before heading out to Sparta around 6'ish for our class. I had loaded up several sacks of garbage for the landfill which stays open on Thursday's until 7'ish, so we made a run there before heading to the class. The class was short this meeting with only 8 in attendance whereas there is usually 12 or more at times. It was close to 9 before we broke up and headed home. I made a stop for gas at 2.84 a gallon and then some non ethanol for the golf cart which is more expensive, but we should be good for another several weeks before heading to Virginia the latter part of this month to visit with family.
Rocky was happy to see us when we got back to the cabin and I soon hit the shower and checked on the Ray's game which they lost in Boston. I then read for a spell on a true WW11 story about the Great Escape from a German prison camp which a movie was made about these daring captured airmen and soldiers. Its a great read, LATER
