Well we gained the hour but my body said get up at the usual 6'ish which is really 5'ish. Oh well I will soon be leaving out on my bike for the load in at the college for BridgePoint Church set up. It's great to be serving again instead of just a chair setter. I'll be there for both services attending one service then working the second one as we help folks get closer to GOD.
Saturday was a busy day that started much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my usual routines before heading off to the Rec. for an hour or so of pickle ball. It was a good workout and we had a couple new players who are really good. I managed to be on the winning team for each match before heading out around 9:30 or so. I got a quick bite of breakfast before leaving out for the hour drive to Brandon to watch grandson Gabe play ball. It was really starting to heat up with bright sunshine and the humidity was back.
The game was nip and tuck at times and Gabe played well but in the final inning they lost by a run on a walk which game the other team the win at 9-8. I think his team is now tied for 1st place with a few more games to go. I stopped by Bobby's house to see the tree fort he has constructed for the kiddos and its first class and will be an asset especially when the twins are big enough to run and play outdoors. It's made of pressure treated wood and put together with bolts. I headed home in the heavy traffic which always seems to be there this time of the year at what we call malfunction junction on the interstate. There was some poor planning on the part of the DOT.
Nancy was busy with getting ready for today's baby shower for Katie. I helped by vacuuming and then mopping the floors which kept me busy for a couple hours. We decided since she was in the kitchen all day with food prep and baking a cake for the family birthday dinner after the shower today that we would go out to Applebees which is close to home. The Botbyl's joined us. My meal and Carol's was excellent but Dan and Nancy's fries were the worst ever. Anyhow we dropped them off at their house and their grand daughter Palmer was there and she is such a cutie with awesome smiles and personality.
I settled into some college football while she did decorations and furniture arrangements for the shower. The list is dwindling as several have opted out for various reasons as it looks except for immediate family only a couple are coming. This is her second shower and the first one had over 40 guests but the family dinner will have more than the shower, oh well, LATER
