Well Tuesday was almost a perfect day with temps in the 50's to start and maybe reached 75 for a high; no humidity and a gentle breeze which is actually drying everything up especially the gardens. The yellow pollen is everywhere from the oak trees sending out new leaves which is covering cars, windows and everything outside. Spring is here which will shortly become summer although we are enjoying these days of cooler temps.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet time in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. Paw Paw is doing as well as can be expected according to him and someone his age as he reminds me each time I call him. His short term memory is gone as he repeats the same thing over again during the same conversation. He did go to the funeral home for visitation for our cousin Mary Velma Ashwood who passed at the age of 94 last evening(Monday). GG is doing much better as she is now getting about with a walker which means she is getting some exercise after being bed fast for so long. Our "mountain mom" sounds good and is doing well at the age of 90 and her brother Joe who at a year older is getting ready to move out of his home as its been sold and will move to Tennessee to live near a son.
I met up with three other pickle ball players and we headed down to St. Pete to play outside as our Rec. is closed all week. We will head back there again this morning to play inside for a couple hours. We met up with another Canadian who plays very well and he joined our group for an hour or so. I invited them to BridgePoint for the Easter Services as they are here for about three months. I headed home and Nancy was gone again shopping so I gave the night stand another coat of paint and now its ready for a new knob and then I will work on the bed frame as it's oak as well. I hate taking beds apart but this job will have to be done in the garage so I will start on that later today.
Amy and Eliza came for lunch and we had roll ups and then Nancy prepared one of my favorite dishes using the fresh batch of half runner green beans and the last of the deer meat that neighbor Gerald blessed us with in the mountains last Fall. Wow, was that ever a delicious meal and we usually use beef but used venison that I had cut into small pieces for stew meat. After the cleanup we settled into the FOX Cable News until the Lightning game came on and I headed to the bedroom to watch the game. We were ahead most of the game but when I shut the lights off at 10 the score was tied with the Panthers from South Florida, LATER
