Thursday Morning April 15th

Well Wednesday was another uneventful day as it was mainly a routine day except for a trip to the library before lunch with a stop at Publix for some sourdough bread for a homegrown tomato sandwich for our lunch. I sliced one of the large ripening tomato's we had in the kitchen window and oh my what a treat with some mayo and sweet onion.

I started the day much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my cup of tea while I posted this ramble then lifted up several by name during my quiet time with my Creator and Lord. We got word that Kathryn was tested again before having a procedure on her lungs and she tested positive with covid. We aren't sure if this was a good test or a false positive so we stayed away from prayer meeting just in case. We aren't having any symptoms but to be safe decided to not take a chance.

I headed out for the rec on my bike a little before 8 and played for two solid hours and left with a wet shirt and head from the good work out. I worked around in the gardens harvesting another bucket of the small tomato's as well as 5 of the larger ones that are starting to show some color. So far I'm staying ahead of the fruit flies with only a couple being ruined by them. I'm waiting on the estimate by the fence folks but no word yet. I want to get it up and finished by the time we leave in about 40 some days for the mountains.

I picked up the book THE FOUR WINDS by Kristin Hannah and its very much like the GRAPES OF WRATH only it romanticizes the emphasis of the communists who want to organize the migrants or Okies into striking the land owners. I'm wondering what her political beliefs are as this ideology is quite profound among the characters in this novel. There is no doubt what those folks with through was demeaning and I'm sure many landowners were harsh but many were not as they helped this class of folks who were destroyed by a natural disaster caused by poor land management, oh well. It's a good read and there are some good aspects of her book. I nearly read 3/4 of it in one afternoon and evening. The book was actually much more entertaining than watching the Ray's play terrible baseball which I eventually cut off and read, oh well. So much for them being champions last season of their league, LATER
