Well Monday was another busy fun filled day with a little gardening thrown in for good measure and temps were nice until the early evening when we turned the a/c on for the night. It looked like rain a couple times with over cast skies but maybe a dozen sprinkles one time or two, but not enough to wet the rocks in the driveway. I did harvest several heads of lettuces and took them to different neighbors and I still have a couple heads to use up as well.
I started the day with my usual before 6 rollout to my routines that start with some quiet moments to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing, all seem to be holding with this post. I headed out to check on the gardens for any deer damage and thus far they have either not been hungry or the deer devices are working. I'm hoping its the latter as they have been eating my neighbors flowers who are located through the woods.
I hand watered the gardens before any harvesting and noticed the squashes are showing lots of fruit on the yellow ones and now the zucchini's are showing some as well. Everything is growing great and I'm thrilled we will soon have cukes as well. The beans are climbing the poles and the peppers are setting fruit as well. Nancy and the girls all went to Galax for shopping in the small old ton section and seemed to have a good time as well as lunch out. It was going on 3 before they got back at the cabin after leaving around 10. I dog set Rocky who was no problem and he slept most of the day. I read and did some internet reading as well as checked on Israel through out the day.
Nancy made a delicious pot of zuppa soup for our supper and we all chowed down and then we headed out to the badmitton area down below the yard and got in a good workout, despite the gnats and bugs which were out in force. I worked up a good sweat before we called it a night as Rocky was a pest at times running in an out trying to steal the birdie. We called it a day for being outside and headed into the a/c as it was quite warm and humid. I tuned into the Ray's game in Detroit and they lost as they are now on a 4 game losing streak, oh well. I soon hit the shower and was out by 10'ish. Amy and these girls are not into game playing for some reason. Tyler and Sam are still on the hoof on the Appalachian Trail and hope to be back at the cabin tomorrow evening by supper time, LATER
