Sunday

Well Saturday was another warm, muggy day here in central Florida. There were lots of rain clouds around and maybe a few sprinkles at times. We still have the a/c on despite it being nearly the middle of January. We are still waiting for the arrival of our 5th grand child but so far no movement despite Amy's due date is today(Sunday). We met up with our neighbors and headed over to our other house church couples condo on the beach for a delicious supper around 6:30.

The morning started with me sleeping in until after 7, actually I was making myself stay in bed due to this cold I'm battling. So far I'm gaining and keeping it from going deep in my chest by using some Robitussin cough syrup; boy that is some nasty stuff but once I took a dose I slept great and no coughing whatsoever during the night. Last year I let a cold and cough turn into the flu which eventually caused some pneumonia in my left lung and that was a scary time for me with trying to rid the fluid from lungs. Yikes for a couple weeks I was out of commission.

I hand watered the garden some time in the mid morning after a breakfast of eggs and grits. I just took it easy and read for most of the day while Nancy headed out to do some shopping and Amy came by to drop off their pet hamster. Seems Cindy (who came for a visit from Kansas) Tyler's mom isn't a lover of the furry little creatures and felt she would enjoy her stay much better without the thought of it escaping from the cage; plus the little feller is nocturnal and would probably keep her awake with his playground antics during the night when he comes alive. Oh well he just hides in his cage amidst all of the tunnels in daylight.

We headed over to Patrick and Kathryn's for a delicious supper of ; wild rice and meatballs in a mushroom sauce, fresh broccoli, a fresh garden salad (from my garden) and strawberry short cake for dessert plus a French ordur've to start with. We sat in the living room watching the playoff game while eating this magnificently prepared meal. She is quite the hostess and cook and puts on the Ritz with each meal. We were starting to get into a game of Sequence after Patrick so diligently filled the dish washer when their daughter Lauren called and indicated that maybe she over did it on a 38 mile bike ride during the day. She was suffering from dehydration and was quite ill so Kathryn graciously took off to be with her and we shortly there after headed out as well. It was a grand time except for the call about their daughter and we will keep her and Patrick in our thoughts and prayers. Patrick is heading to the Holy Land on Wednesday for a 2 week adventure with his brother.

Well after dropping off Dan and Carol we headed in to watch the rest of the game and shortly thereafter got ready for some horizontal lab.  After a hot shower I was soon reading the inside of my eye lids. The Seahawks did a number on the Saints and the Patriots were beating the Colts when I turned the lights out. Don't forget that today is the Sabbath so take a few moments and give thanks ask for blessings on those who are in need or ill and set aside a time to honor GOD in some way. We like to by getting with others in a gathering, giving hugs and handshakes, singing and hearing a word from our pastor in this case our son, Bobby. Keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers as well, LATER
