Well Wednesday was another beautiful day here on the mountain. A little chilly to start the day with temps in the middle 40's but it soon warmed up to the 60's by the time we left the cabin and traveled down the mountain to the quaint city of Mt. Airy, Mayberry USA for the day. We ate out at a local eatery and walked the streets shopping and people watching. This week is usually the week of the Fall Leaf Festival but like most every outdoor event except for the burn, loot, and murder terrorists(BLM and Antifa) it was cancelled due to the governor closing the state and making wearing a mask mandatory; all for everyone but them. Oh well such power he exercises over the populace to help destroy this economy to hurt Trump in the upcoming election.
I started the day with once again sleeping in until 7'ish as we stayed up late the night before watching the Ray's win in baseball. Last night we stayed up watching the VP debate and while there were times I wanted to turn off the TV due to the lies of the democrat candidate I watched it to its final. I'm not sure if this moderator was any more neutral to VP Pence as she let the radical Harris continue with her diatribe of lies while constantly shutting Pence up. Anyhow the Never Trumper's show their real colors in the MSM with their bias and misinformation.
I got in an early morning power hike to the top and then again after getting back on the mountain around 5'ish. This time Dam went with me and the hike was beautiful. The views off the mountain were blurred due to the heat down below as we saw temps in the middle 80's in Mt. Airy. Wow what a change from the last several days. It was good to get back to the 70's as we climbed the mountain. We made a garbage stop on the way down and a Wal-Mart stop on the way up from Mt. Airy.
We dined around 2'ish at SOHO's which has very delicious food. We each had a sweet potato base appetizer which has no raw fish but called sushi. We then each had a bowl of Pho; they had chicken and I had shrimp as the meat in the Pho. It's like a soup with noodles, fresh vegetables and spices. Delicious. The owner we met a couple years ago is from Viet Nam but he was so busy he couldn't come out to greet us. Our server was a hoot as well and very friendly.
Well after a stock up stop as well as a fill up for the truck we headed out of the hot city to the cooler temps in the mountain. It actually dropped 14 degrees as we reached the cabin after a quick stop at our mountain moms place to drop off an item she wanted and needed. We decided since we had such a large late lunch to just have of cheese and crackers and a glass of vino while we played some raucous card games, LATER
Dan and I getting back from our evening hike.
