Well Tuesday was a mixture of work and play and once again the temps were on the hot side by early afternoon with a ton of humidity; nothing like Florida but still it was quite warm. We could use a shower as I'm back to hand watering the garden and while rain showers are in the forecast so far they have skipped us. After all the wet weather a couple weeks ago I didn't think I would be asking for rain.
I started the day with a before 6 ish rollout to my usual routines and then some quiet time with my Creator after posting this ramble. All those I lift up daily seem to be holding their own for right now. I headed out after a light breakfast to get ready to stain the deck side of the cabin which had me about 30 feet or so up in the air. Wow is that ever a long way day plus the height of the deck off the ground makes it really a bit scary. I took my time and got the fascia and the underside of the roof a really good coat of stain and almost all of that side of cabin. I will finish that side today as well as scrape and repaint the window frames green and the spacer boards black where I manage to get some stain on them. The ladders are so heavy to move so I decided to do one side completely and make this a 4 day job as I want to paint all of the windows that need a ladder to reach them.
That job kept me busy until I ran out of that gallon of stain plus the sun had manage to start to shine on that side of the cabin and the heat index had really started to go up. I had been on the west side all morning in the shade and that made for some great working conditions. I stopped for the day around 3'ish and decided since I was playing pickle ball at 6 to give the body especially the feet and legs a rest as I knew I would be playing for 2 plus hours non stop and thats what we did as there were just 4 of us players. We had some great rallies and I manage to win with the three others through out the evening and left with a wet sweat soaked shirt. It was going on 9'ish before I got back to the cabin and hit the showers, yeow did that ever feel great. I watched a little of the Ray's game on the internet and they were winning 2-1 but the final showed the Braves came back and won. I decided to read for a while before turning out the lights around my usual bed time.
It was a physical day while climbing and standing on a ladder plus the running around on the court so my legs were tired and so was my arm. I used a 5 inch brush for staining so that required many swipes of which I'm not use to doing. It wasn't long after reading a chapter of Greg Iles book The Devil's Punchbowl the sand man calleth, LATER
