Tuesday Morning

Well Monday was a work day from the start of the day and lasted close to 7 in the evening. It was another perfect day for working with warm temps in the 70's no humidity and clear blue skies. Once again it was 50* to start the day. I was up and ready to go around 6 as I had lots to do before my old friend and fellow plumber and electrician came in the late afternoon to help me install a new hot water heater in the basement. That turned out to be bigger job than I anticipated. Nancy was busy preparing a delicious supper for us and Walt and Theia his bride of 50 plus years.

I did my morning routines that started with the hot cup of tea laced with turmeric after a handful of vitamins and supplements. I've finally conquered the chest congestion after much natural remedies and fresh watermelon seemed to be kicker. I've learned it great for ridding the body of mucus and the Luffman's left a whole one here on Saturday night and I've been eating some daily plus its so dog gone good tasting. After my quiet time to honor and pray for those who are hurting I ate a lite breakfast of oatmeal with fresh fruit then got ready to head up the mountain to assist Joe with a job he couldn't manage alone. He had a heavy ornament hanging on his shed and got it down while he painted his place but couldn't get it back in place. I did that job in a matter of minutes and was on my way back down with some beautiful fresh bounty from their garden. Awesome barter.

I stopped and visited with Donnie and Martha who purchased the old Todd place and turned it into a beautiful cabin with landscaping. They are part time residents from down in Monroe, N.C. We caught up on all that's happened with us and Nancy's mom since last year. I headed home to fire up the riding mower after charging the battery and mowed the yards all except the backwoods yard. I wore a mask over my nose and mouth to keep the flying dust and debris from my lungs this time as I think that was the culprit for having so much chest congestion with the pollen during my first mow. I stopped and had a lite lunch before firing up the weed whacker and edging all of the yards.

Walt came around 3:30 and we went to work in the basement. We ran out of some parts so I headed to town and just got there in time to pick up some much needed parts before the place closed at 5. One building supply place near us closed at 4 so it was a long trip to town. I find it hard to believe stores like that close so early in the evening, oh well. We stopped round 6:30 for a delicious supper of roast beef in a gravy, smashed taters and a salad, wow was that ever tasty and Nancy had it simmering for about 5 hours and the beef fell apart on your fork. We headed back down to finish the job and then had desserts later. Nancy had a delicious peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and Theia had bought a tasty coconut cream pie from one of the restaurants. We sent that pie back home with them after a sampling. The cobbler was awesome and we have enough left over for a lite taste tonight.

Nancy spoke with her mom and she complained of the food being too spicy and rich at the rehab yesterday which caused her to throw up. Hopefully she will be better today. Erica came to visit her several times during the day as well and she seemed better when Nancy last spoke with her. Well it wasn't long after Walt and Theia left which was around 9'ish or little after. We had a good visit as well as we caught up with their family and ours. We had many family suppers with them over the last 20 plus years and I even helped him one summer doing jobs. We haven't had much contact except for an occasional phone call but have remained friends. He is starting to fail in his health as his knees have given out. Luckily I was able to get him up and down to the basement using the golf cart. I did all of the heavy work as he told me what to do. Well that was about it after a hot shower as I was whipped and ready for some horizontal lab around 10'ish, LATER
