Well Sunday was a great morning of worship and then a fun day with several of our Life group members for supper and Sequence at our house. It was cool to start the day and eventually warmed up enough we could open the windows for fresh air but cool enough to keep the a/c off until late evening during the hotly contested games after supper. One gal is till having hot flashes so several of us froze to keep her comfortable.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6'ish roll out to my routines that start with the cup of hot green tea while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet time with my Creator and Lord giving thanks and lifting several up by name. All seem as well as can be expected. We did get a call during the afternoon that all of my sisters(cousins) and husbands were in West Virginia for a birthday dinner for Paw Paw who turned 93 this past week. It sounded like everyone was having a raucous good time with good eatin' as well.
I headed out to hand water the gardens before we headed over to the Nymark's spacious house where we along with 25-30 others shared a morning breakfast before watching our BridgePoint Service on their huge TV and then afterwards we held small groups for prayers and comments. We are hoping we can settle the land and building offer which will put our Seminole Campus back in the business of helping folks get closer to GOD. We had such a great core group before this pandemic stopped all activities at the college but we still get together with several who are ready to open the doors. We have one family who will match all pledges up to a million dollars to get this building open to do what our core group loves to do, which is help folks get saved and with the way the signs are we could very well be in the last days before the rapture.
We got back to the house around 11 and then settled into cleaning and food prep which is Nancy's idea of entertaining. I helped with most of getting the house ready for 10 folks for supper, table expansion, extra chairs, grill prep, vacuuming etc. I did settle in for an hour or so and watched the NFL before folks started arriving around 5'ish. I grilled marinated chicken breasts and warmed up some venison brats that one couple brought. He is a big hunter and loves the meat as do we. Kathryn made a nice pot of potato casserole and the Nymark's brought a salad. Carol was supposed to bring brownies but failed to do so and she hasn't been bringing anything to the breakfast brunch on Sunday mornings which is a bit unusual, oh well. I wouldn't have eaten any of them as I'm cutting back on sugars and carbs but she usually contributes. I sure hope she is O.K.
Well the food was delicious to say the least and we soon after the clean up taught one new couple the game of Sequence. They caught on quick and the guys were soon ahead 4-1, but since there were 10 of us who each got a deal we decided to play the best of 10 game. Well at the end it was 5 games apiece so we played one tie breaker game and gals won with a sneaky play by Carol as Dan and I had the winning cards, oh well it was fun and raucous to say the least. They all left around 9:30 and it was time to hit the showers for me and and then lights out at 10, LATER
