Monday Morning..Sept 9th

Well Sunday was another beautiful day with temps in the 50's to start and it reached the upper 70's by late afternoon and once more no humidity. We actually could use a little precipitation as the dust is quite evident in and out of our driveway and road plus I'm hand watering the flower beds and gardens daily. It also was a good day of corporate worship both here at the cabin on line with our Florida BridgePoint Church and then at Cornerstone in Sparta. We met up with Mechelle at the local Mexican eatery for a good meal after church which lasted me the rest of the day.

I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric which I posted this ramble and spent some quiet time with my Creator lifting up several as well as giving thanks. All seem as well a can be expected at this point in time. I headed out to check on the gardens while eating a breakfast of chopped apple, blueberries from my bushes, pecans and a banana. All the gardens are holding their own with no deer damage over night. They were in it two nights in a row last week but seemed to only like the parsley and beet greens thus far and of course they did munch most of the new leaves off the black raspberry vines and the recently transplanted black eyed Susan seedlings, oh well. Nancy has been worried they would eat down her hydrangeas in the front of the porch but so far they have not and the plants have grown and even set new flowers while the deer have stayed away.

We made a quick stop at the Food Lion for a couple items before getting back to the cabin after a delicious lunch. I chilled watching some of the NFL and it seems most of the teams in the division the Bucs are in lost. The Panthers were playing a good Ram's team and made a game of it after being down by 10 points and lost by 3. The Bucs were beaten by the 49'ers in Tampa and the Falcons lost as well. I haven't heard if the Saints played but our division thus far is anything but good, oh well. I did tune into the mens final at the US Open and that was a great match against Medevendev and Nadal. Neither are my favorite but the youngster from Russia came back and gave the old pro a run for his money after being down 2 sets and a match point against him to come back and win two sets in a row. I felt some what sorry for the kid as the fans were clearly in favor of Nadal; anyhow it was a record in time for the final with nearly 5 hours of play.

I headed out around 5'ish to mow the yards as we are having first timers for a cook out tomorrow who are friends of the Tracy's and live in their hood in Florida. I wasn't going to mow because of the dryness, but Nancy convinced me to mow which took me about 2 hours to complete and the yards do take on a great look. We took a golf cart ride afterwards to the top of mountain and saw no one out an about. We did see a mother deer with two fawns which we have seen several times on our hikes over the summer and all are really starting to grow. Should be some fine eatin' in a couple months. Well we came back and I watched some more NFL and did see where the Ray's swept the Jays. Our Tyler and grand kiddos were at the game and we won big with the bats coming to life. It wasn't long after a hot shower around 10'ish I was ready for some horizontal lab, LATER
