Well Tuesday saw us with temps a couple of degrees cooler and less humidity as a front moved through the area. Not a lot of coolness but the change in humidity is wonderful. It was still in the 80's but pleasant outside in the shade. Not much beyond the usual except I did fix a couple of the kitchen chairs that needed gluing and some nails in the rungs that had worked loose which I did after leaving the Rec.
I started the day back to my 6 ish rollout or just a few minutes before. I did my morning routines that start with a cup of tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then spent a few quiet moments with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name for comfort and healing and now especially our Potus who is under attack again by the left liberals and the main stream media as well as many within his party. What has become of our nation and patriotism?
I headed out to the Rec. on my bike around 8'ish for two hours of pickle ball play. Neighbor Dan has joined us the past couple of mornings for an hour or so and has played well and he seems to really enjoy the game. Hopefully he will continue. We had three courts in action throughout the morning with mostly B players. Dan will move up with more experience to an A player status as he picked the game up quite well. After the workout I headed home to do some upkeep on a couple of the oak kitchen chairs that have a few loose rungs. They are at least 35 years old or more as we bought them second hand along with the circle table when we were first married. I've refinished then a time or two over the years but they are still worthy of keeping.
Amy and Eliza came for lunch and afterwards I settled into some gardening and then read for a couple hours in the heat of the day. The garden is still doing well despite the tomato plants being chewed off. I picked my first mess of Swiss chard to add to the fresh salad for supper and these plants are so hardy and beautiful. I think they are as good as lettuce and you can eat them steamed or raw in salads. I brought back three rows of plants with some more mature than others but all of them seemed to love the warm temps. The beet seedlings I brought back are sending up new shoots or leaves and I will soon harvest the leaves to add to the salads as well. The couple dozen black seeded Thompson lettuces are adding another leaf so they too soon will find their way into the salad bowl. I'm still waiting on the kale seeds to produce some seedlings as they too will enter the bowl.
I now have green beans popping through the ground in just about 5 days of sowing and I noticed a few carrots popping through as well. Now if I can just keep the squirrels from digging despite the chicken wire covering the rows and messing up the new seedlings. The pepper plants I brought back are putting out new leaves after the shock of being uprooted from the cold clay soil to the new warm sandy ground of Florida. I'm still waiting on cucumbers to sprout so maybe the seeds are old and no good. Anyhow the gardening chore in Florida is so much fun and the benefits are enormous with fresh veggies. We still purchase lots at the markets but do enjoy walking out into the back yard and collecting some for our meals.
Well we finally finished up the left over spaghetti sauce and noodles for our supper along with a fresh salad. After the cleanup it was FOX NEWS time and we learned where there are women coming out of the wood work from nearly 40 years ago to ruined the candidate from Alabama chances to become a senator. It surely sounds like a paid hit job on this man who was once a supreme court judge from the state and I can not imagine he would have achieved this position without proper vetting; do I smell another dossier faked like the one Hillary paid for to discredit Trump. Sounds fishy to me but if the allegations are true then he should resign. I think its a; he said, she said scenario and how will you prove it.
Well it wasn't long after a hot shower and nearly 10 pm that I turned in for the night for some horizontal lab, LATER
