Wednesday Morning 23rd of December

Well I must say I'm missing a little of those cooler days we had at the cabin as the temps here once again reached the middle 80's and the humidity has returned as well. Yuck, I'm getting antsy about those cool days we had last November in the mountains but I understand they are having spring like temps there as well. There is nothing like cool temps for Christmas.

The day started with a little after 6 for a change for me and Nancy really slept in until nearly 8, wow what a change for us. I did my usual morning routines of a few quiet moments and now the daily discipline of personal growth along with the posting of this ramble before catching up on the social media and e-mails. I had my usual apple for breakfast before heading out to check on the gardens and give it a drink by hand watering. The garden is flourishing with the green beans starting to form along with a couple cucumber nubbins and a couple green peppers the size of golf balls. Now these green pepper plants are the ones that produced all summer in the mountains and I dug them up and transplanted here in this garden.  I did the same with the jalapeno plant but while its still living, it hasn't bloomed so yesterday while I was at Home Depot I bought a couple jalapeƱos that were blooming and set them out. I also bought a bunch of onion seedlings that will make sweet onions and got them in the ground as well. One year I raised beautiful onions with large heads from these seedlings.

Nancy, Amy and GG all took off to do some last minute shopping at the Christian book store and then a stop at Sam's Club to gas up and purchased a sirloin roast for the Christmas supper. I watched all three of the Ross grand kiddos and they were little angels. We watched a movie titled HOME which is about these little alien creatures who come to America. It was in cartoon form. I mostly read while the kids were glued to the tube. We had a lunch of deli meat sandwiches and I made a guacamole as well. I took GG home with a Publix stop for her on the way and delivered the roast to her fridge as she has plenty of room until we roast it on Friday. I stopped at Home Depot for the plants and some new lettuce seeds.

I worked in the garden transplanting the seedlings and sowing more seeds for the next hour or so and worked up a sweat. It's December the start of winter and I'm sweating outside, oh well!!!Nancy was once again in the kitchen baking chocolate mouse tarts to take with us to Katie's grand parents luncheon on Christmas Eve. We are looking forward to meeting her family on this special day. Well that was about it for this day as we finished up leftovers for supper and then settled into the Fox News channel and I eventually headed into the bedroom to watch the Lightning lose in a game in which they had 10 power plays and could not score against a team that had lost the last 5 games in a row, yikes were they ever flat, LATER
