Friday Morning

Well Thursday was another great day of pickle ball then some gardening and since I was alone for the afternoon I read until Nancy and GG arrived for a late evening supper. They had been at Morton Plant Hospital where Betsy, Nancy's sister had her hip replaced earlier in the morning. She was doing fine and coming around after the surgery.

The morning started out much the usual with a 6'ish roll out for me, Nancy followed a little later as she wanted to pick up her mom, GG and head to Clearwater to see Betsy before her operation. I did my routines and spent a few quiet moments lifting up those who need some divine care and healing and while Betsy isn't a big believer she wanted us to pray for her as she was afraid she would die as a result of this surgery. That is why she put this off for so long and suffered such awful pain for over a year. Nancy said her surgery was about an hour long and the surgeon said she was bone on bone in the hip and femur.

I headed out around 8 ish to the rec. and there were 4 of us once again today but we added a very good B woman player as one of the fellows was out of town. We managed to keep one court for nearly 2 hours of constant play and when I left my shirt was soaked. I love these workouts and the play was great as well. The B players had the two other courts in action so the gym was filled. I stopped by the library and picked up a couple new reads which were memoir's. One was about the effects of the death of a 11 year old brother who was murdered here in the Tampa area back in the 70's. One of the killer's eventually sat in "old Sparky" after 12 years on death row and the other one is still in prison and was spared for some silly reason that he didn't understand what he did. They grabbed this kid, beat him and then took him out in the woods to torture him but he died of suffocation in the trunk. They mutilated his body and buried him in a shallow grave but eventually they were caught after the wife of one of the killers found out the crime and turned them in, thankfully. This took place just before I came on the Patrol in '74 but I'd heard about this horrible crime.

I worked in the garden until lunch time digging up enough area to transplant two rows of kale and two rows of lettuce seedlings. They looked good at the end of the day as the skies were overcast and some what foggy in the morning hours. The sun broke through in the afternoon but by then the seedlings were basically in some shade from the big oak. The runners on the half runner beans are clinging to the fence I built for them which will make it so much easier to harvest. I weeded and loosen the soil around the Swiss chard and gave them a good feeding as well. I still don't see any color on the recently sown carrot seeds but I'm hoping they do produce as last year I gave away some beautiful grown carrots from seeds.

Well Nancy and GG got in somewhere close to 6'ish and she picked up New York steaks from Publix on the way home so we ate a celebratory meal regarding Betsy successful hip replacement. I grilled the steaks to perfection with a deep pink center and they were accompanied by fresh broccoli and black beans and rice, yeow what a feed as I'd eaten lightly throughout the day with just an apple for breakfast and a few cheese and crackers for lunch.

Today we are taking the Ross Kiddos with us to Bobby's place to watch his two kiddos while they attend a fund raiser. The kiddos will all have a couple hours of playtime of which they so enjoy. Amy and Tyler have a deacon supper in Seminole. Well that was about it except for listening to president Trump give a fantastic speech in Ohio about the plans he has to make America Great Again. I'm sure hoping his ideas work for the nation and that we become once again a united country. We lost another officer to a useless killer in Washington State last evening and this must stop. The BLM thugs is causing such racial divide and is egged on by this inept potus who is half black. He has caused so much divide among the races and you would think it would be just the opposite, just like the divide he has caused with his disregard for the rules and laws of the land with his executive orders that subvert the constitution. I will be so glad when he and his inept administration leaves the leadership positions in D.C. and we have a draining of the swamp. Now if we can get term limits for ALL in the congress we will rid those politicians who only care about their re-election instead of the nation. I say rid the career inept ones from D.C. as well, LATER
