Well Friday was once again another very hot and humid day with temp's into the middle 90's and by late afternoon the clouds did build and we got some cooling off rain. It's starting to feel like the doldrums of summer and its only May. At least the mountains are cool with highs only in the 70's. We had another family supper as Nancy's brother heads back to Michigan this evening after being gone for over a month.
The day started much the usual with a before 6 roll out and then a few quiet moments and a lite breakfast before heading out on my bike for 2 hours of pickle ball at the rec. We had a small crowd this morning and I was whupped by 10 AM. After a quick stop at the library I headed home to hand water the new seedlings and piddle around in the yard until Nancy completed her work out at the rec. Since no one was coming for lunch we ate a little early then got ready to head to Sam's Club and pick up GG on the way.
We needed a new camera as ours was dropped and we could not get it to function after that plus we wanted to pick up fresh salmon for supper as Eric is Catholic and doesn't eat meat on Friday's. After Sam's we made a stop at Publix for GG as she needed several items not found at Sam's Club. After dropping her off with her goodies we headed home to put the house in order. I vacuumed and checked out the new camera which has some added features such as a battery and a plug in re-charger, 30x the focus power plus a lens cover. None of these were on our old Cannon. Hopefully this one will give us as much pleasure in capturing some moments for posterity.
I made a guacamole to start the gastric juices flowing while we sipped a little vino. I grilled 2 huge fillets which were perfectly seasoned and along with pasta, sauteed squashes, a fresh salad and crusty bread we feasted once again. We had bought a rotisserie chicken for the kiddos as they aren't fish eaters however Sam did like a piece I gave him. Ava can't eat it because of her affinity to mercury and Omega three complications. After the cleanup we started a game of Logo but it was getting late and the kiddos were fussy and wanted to go to bed.
The Ray's lost to the Twins in Minnesota 3-2 after leading for most of the game. It was going on 11 when that game ended so it was shortly lights out for me, LATER
