Thursday Morning

Well Wednesday saw us with more hot and humid temps yet a breeze kept it comfortable especially during the late evening hours. I did get in some yard work after supper as it became quite comfortable outside. The morning found me at the Rec. for nearly two hours of pickle ball. I left whupped with a wet shirt and then had to pedal home.

I did get in some yard work and hand watered the back gardens. The tomato's are just about done for this season and the Swiss chard is gone as well. The kale, collards and lettuces are holding on for now but the high heat during the day requires two hand waterings and they soon will be gone as well. The few half runner beans are drying on the vine and I will shell them and use them for plantings at the cabin. I've noticed lots of earthworms in the garden when ever I did in the soil laced with oak leaves which is a fantastic sign. I have several bags of leaves waiting to be broken up for their digestion and eventually turned into soil and fertilizer. The veggies love the worms casings.

Amy and Eliza Faye came for lunch and then the girls took off to do some shopping so I watched Eliza. She of course wanted me to play doll house with her and after the girls got back Amy asked her if she liked playing doll house with me and she said "no". I hear her and Nancy playing together and I'm not quite the fantasy player those two are, oh well maybe that will keep me from the doll house. She did need a snack so I fulfilled that request. We ate some left over smoked chicken along with Brussel Sprouts for our supper and some canned beets and after the cleanup I headed out to pull weeds and hand water the front yards. It surely needs some work but mostly rain as the only green was basically weeds and I pulled lots of them out.

That was about it for the day as it was nearly 8:30 when we came in from outside. It was shower time and then some Fox News before some horizontal lab around 10'ish, LATER
