Wednesday Morning..Yikes its cold here

Well Tuesday was a total work day except for a mid afternoon golf cart ride out to the mailbox and then a visit with neighbor George and Gail Redman and later a hike to the top of the mountain; but the rest of the day starting with a well before 6 roll out was quite busy. I did my morning routines on this rather chilly morning almost down to the 40's with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator lifting up several by name and giving thanks for my many blessings. All seem well and we did visit our "mountain mom" after supper doing some clipping on hard to reach places on her many shrubs and hedges.

I took a ride out to the mailbox around 8'ish on the golf cart to mail Fathers Day cards and stopped by the Heglar homestead after noticing a rather good size tree had fallen into their yard taking out their phone line. It seems it had rotted off at ground level and fell toward their deck just missing the power lines which were a little higher. There was no damage other than the phone cable. I came back and started on the upstairs bathroom again removing more flooring and wall boards as we get ready for the plumbers who are coming today (Wed.) to assess what's needed to get the job started with the drain and water lines to the shower.

We got a call around 10'ish that Lowes was delivering Nancy's new fridge which is just like the one we have in Seminole. It's a Whirlpool stain less steel with the doors opening out from the middle and the freezer is down below. We took the one we had from upstairs and moved that to the basement and they took the old Kelvinator with them. That was the best old fridge and I know it was at least 40 years old or more and it worked each time we would plug it in. That kept me busy until lunch time. We had leftover fajitas for lunch and wow were they just as tasty as the evening before. I started a burn pile of the ripped out hardwood flooring as well as the boards and sub flooring and soon had a roaring blaze.

I checked the gardens, loosening the much packed soil from all the rain and saw where I lost three of my large tomato plants from the stems rotting off at the ground. I still have three of those left but do have 6 of the large cherry type plants still thriving. I took the marigolds out of the six packs and planted them along the back yard garden. I noticed I have a morning glory poking through the pot I sowed from seed a few days ago as well as some lettuces and kale. Hopefully they will make. I did sow some Swiss chard seeds into a pot yesterday as well.

We had a fresh garden salad with an ear of sweet corn for our supper then headed over to our "mountain moms" beautiful real log cabin about 2 miles from us. She wasn't able to reach the tops of her many shrubs that have gotten too big for her to reach from the ground and at 91 she should not be on a ladder. It took about an hour or so to top them and haul away the clipping to her burn pile which she loves to do. I can remember her and our son Bobby shooting off fireworks and how she loves to burn clippings, limbs, etc. She drives her golf cart daily while working outside. We sat and visited for a few watching the sun set over the distant mountains from her back porch rockers. She blessed us with a couple Jasmine plants she started from seeds so I planted them when we got home around the base of the arbor. They are vining so they should climb the arbor which I once again had to reinforce from all the wind this past winter.

I settled into the Ray's game on the internet and after leading for most of the game but their relief pitching blew it and they lost to the A's. I headed for the shower and then to the sack around 10:30, LATER
