Well Thursday was my last day at 74 years young. I did some garden work in the morning and then sat on the back porch for most of the afternoon watching some documentaries before we had supper. We are off to Sparta today and the library as I ran out of books but I found some great stories on You Tube of Man vs Wild and of the hermits who lived in the eastern part of Siberia.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to a cup of hot green tea while I posted this ramble and then some quiet time with my Creator and Lord giving thanks and lifting several up by name for healing and comfort. All seem as well as can be expected. I took my early morning hike to the top of the mountains before Nancy got out of bed. The mornings are so peaceful and the fresh air is exhilarating to say the least and the non stop hike is helping with keeping me some what in shape. I harvested a couple more cucumbers and yellow squash and blessed our old worker friends, Larry and Brandon who are on a job on top of the mountain with a sack full when I went to pick blueberries at the old Browning Place. The new owners are gone for another week and mentioned to pick them before they fell off. I gathered a cup of berry's for our morning oatmeal as my berries are just starting to ripen with just a few a day ripe enough to eat.
I piddled around the cabin catching up on some small jobs, hoeing and weeding most all of the vegetable and flower beds until just before lunch when Nancy decided she was ready for a hike. The air was delicious to say the least and perfect for the steep backwoods trail hike. We did stop and visit for a few with folks on top before heading back to the cabin for a lunch of a fresh garden salad.
We did clean up some of the leftovers for our supper and then we took a golf cart ride out to the mailbox where we saw a couple neighbors out and about. We stopped and chatted for nearly an hour before heading back to have a campfire. The air was chilly and perfect for an evening fire. You could feel the temps start to drop dramatically as the sun was setting below the tall trees that surround our place and the heat from the fire was perfect. After Nancy headed in I decided to burn some trash and then it was shower time for us and then some horizontal lab around 10'ish for me, LATER
