Monday Morning Nov 2nd in Florida

Well I'll catch up on the Sunday morning roll out and trip south. Really not much to post except it was cold when we left and hot when we arrived. 40 + degree swing in temps. We left in the rain at 4AM and fought heavy showers at times until close to 9 AM. The traffic was very light at times and we breezed through the big cities with no back ups until we slowed down for a couple of major crashes thankfully into the medians. We reached the border of Florida around 11:30. Once we reached the border it was nothing but traffic coming and going on both sides of I-95. We did stop for breakfast in Orangeburg, S.C. at Mickey D's but had to run into the building through the heavy rain and then eat in the truck, plus it was a cold rain. I had dressed for Florida and the warmth with shorts but did carry a coat which felt great in the cold rain.

We did stop a total of 5 stops to walk and gas up at 1.71 at Sams Club in Georgia where we took a long hike through the store. That fill up brought us home with some to spare. Tampa traffic was heavy but we also breezed through with no backups. It seems the construction on 118 ave with never be complete and the road is like driving in Michigan with pot holes and ruts, unbelievably rough, oh well. We were back unloading around 3'ish in the heat and humidity. Neighbors all thought the temps were nice but what we left was nice compared to the heat, oh well. We will adjust. I had a problem with the garage door so will call a technician today. Everything else looked good much like we left it inside.

After unloading we headed up to the Botbyl's for supper with the Tracy's and the Nymark's who bought land on their first visit to our cabin. They will hopefully get the land in order for their 30+ foot motor coach and visit from time to time through out the year. They especially want to visit in October for the leaf color change.

We dined on chicken enchiladas, rice, beans and guacamole: delicious as always. The 8 of us sat around and discussed church, politics and what we are planning for the upcoming months. We will be a good group as we all are Believers in Christ, conservatives and heard workers and semi-retired. There are a few health issues among us but thus far all in good mental and physical condition enough to get by for now. I noticed I put on 15 pounds this summer, yikes so its time to eat less and be more physical on the pickle ball court and in doing yard work. I will miss my early morning power hikes and the leisure one with Nancy in the afternoons up the beautiful but demanding mountain trails

Well it was a somewhat better rest night but it takes me a few days to acclimate to the noise, the bed and being in the lower altitude at almost sea level as compared to 3000+ feet in the mountains. We also will miss all of our friends and family there which is always a big plus, the views and the ambiance when we look out the windows and see only things created by GOD. There are many benefits in both places and we are blessed to share in both which makes our days on this earth enjoyable. We have family here with Bobby's in Brandon and Amy's just a few minutes away with our total of 7 grands whom will see some this Monday evening and others later in the week as there was a possibility of a covid scare with some of Amy's co workers. It's time to vote today as well and hopefully save America from the radicals who want power to change our culture and way of life, LATER
