Sunday Morning July13th

Well Saturday was a work day that started out with a before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet moments to honor my lord, Jesus, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. I need to add Nancy's name as she picked up a bug that left her on the commode for several hours after supper last evening. Hopefully her tummy calms down enough we can attend church this morning, oh well.

I headed out after a breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast with some apple butter I headed out to check on the gardens and flower beds and so far no deer damage. I'm hoping its because of those devices that are motion detected and that is keeping them away as a neighbor mentioned the deer have eaten all of her blooming lilies and she is fighting mad, oh well. I fired up the weed eater and started on the back woods area as it was in the shade and finally finished after a couple of hours which wore me out walking up and down this hilly yard. It sure looks good and I did some areas I hadn't done since we got here.

Nancy had clothes on the line and just as we sat down to eat it started raining so we had to get them in and put them in the dryer and then the rain stopped and it never rained again all evening, but the threat was there with some thunder but no rain which was good, since we've had over an inch the past couple of days. The gardens are starting to produce as I harvested a huge mess of Swiss chard for our supper along with some Mangrove snapper filets our dear friends in Seminole gave us before we left in May. He caught them in the gulf and froze them and they were delicious to say the least. We had a garden salad for our lunch with all the leafy greens coming from my planting in May. I had harvested fresh lettuces, beet greens, kale and Swiss chard with some fresh basil and wow what a delicious salad. I have a cucumber ready for harvesting as well and I did harvest a nice yellow squash.

Not much to write about as I took the afternoon basically off and checked on the world news and read for a spell and then cat napped on the porch. The temps were quite nice which made for having the cabin open until the evening when Nancy started having her tummy issues which went on for a couple hours. I watched the rays lose again in Boston and they have now dropped another place in their division, oh well, LATER
