Friday Morning ..Oct 4th

Well Thursday was a shopping day in Galax, Va., lunch out and then a relaxing day as it's 90 degrees in town. Yikes what happened to those 40's and 50's in the mornings and cool 70's afternoons. It was humid as well so we stayed inside after getting back from town until around 4:30 when we headed out for our hike together. I did get in my hike alone first thing in the morning.

I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric after washing down a handful of those Nutrilite Vitamins and supplements. Our team leader has extended the offer of bogo on anything on the website until the 10th of the month so if your inclined to use the best check them out at www.amway.com/JNTriplett. I did my usual routines that always include giving thanks and honoring my Creator as well as lifting up several by name. All at this time are doing as well as can be expected due to their ages and health related issues. I'm definitely lifting up our Potus Trump, his family, those who love America, our military and police officers and folks who just love GOD. I really believe we maybe on the edge of the nation having a civil war against those now in the gov't who want to change our culture and destroy the precepts upon which this nation was formed and developed. Sure there are some things that could be done better but we are the most blessed nation in this world and there are those who want to destroy us from within with this radical idea of socialism. We must defeat any such idea in this next election and send those like minded folks packing.

I loaded up the garbage and a large cooler as we noticed a local market in Galax was having a truck sale of meats. That place was packed with shoppers and we too loaded up a whole rib eye's(which they sliced for us), a turkey breast and baby back ribs for when we have our last guests of the year next week. We then headed to Walmart for a few other items after gassing up at 2.29 a gallon. We made a lunch stop at Subway and shared a foot long as we were planning on a ribeye for supper on the grill. We got back to the cabin around 2'ish and chilled until it was time for our hike to the top. We saw Ben and Laura and sat and visited with them for a spell on their front porch which was in the shade. We have got to know them better this summer and shared many stories and come to find out she is a pipe organist and once played at the large Catholic church in Kendall, Fl. where our nephew is the pipe organist and music director now. What a small world. She still plays at the Episcopal Church here in Sparta occasionally for special events.

We headed across the mountain and down the back road and it had finally started to cool down by the time we reached the cabin. I fired up the grill and Nancy had fresh broccoli cooking and the meat was delicious grilled to medium rare. You could cut the meat with a fork it was that tinder and so delicious. That was a good buy at 8 bucks a pound for a boneless ribeye which is our favorite. Needless to say we licked the platter clean and oh so very little waste fat. After the cleanup we settled into the playoff game between the Braves and Cardinals and the Cardinals came back and won the game by a run. The Ray's play this afternoon in Houston around 2'ish so I'll be watching until its time to head over to a friends house for supper and games.

Well that was about it as it October and playoff baseball time which thrills me especially when we have a team in the fight for the World Series, Go Rays, LATER
