Monday Morning July 17th

Well Sunday was a beautiful day weather wise after the 4 1/2 inches of rain on Saturday afternoon and evening, yeow did it ever pour enough so that the water running off the top of the mountain once more created a stream in the back woods gully, albeit wasn't as full as the last major 4 day event with the 8 inches of rain. The temps dropped and a nice breeze blew out any humidity so we turned off the a/c until night fall and opened all of the windows and door. Just a beautiful day.

I started the day with my 6'ish roll out to my routines that start with some quiet times to honor my LORD, give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All are holding as I make this post. Tyler and Sam located their first overnight shelter on the trail and were doing well on their trip up from Georgia into the Carolina's for a 40 mile or so hike on the Appalachian Trail. Amy and the girls brought no clothes for church so I listened to our SRBC service which is live on line and worshipped that way. Pastor Dereck brought a great message from the gospel of John which warns us of the dire straights America is in now with what was once good is now evil and what was once evil is now considered good in our changing culture. America had better wake up to what these radical wokers are doing to destroy the very fabric of our society which was once based on GOD's truth in his Word.

We headed out for Sparta around 12:30 to have lunch at the pizzeria and once more their pies were delicious and filling. We made a quick stop at the library to return some books and then I dropped the girls off at the Food Lion for some shopping while I picked up Nancy's script at Walgreens across the road. We then made another stop at the veggies stand before taking a scenic drive back to the cabin. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching the Ray's lose to team with a terrible record after winning a double hitter yesterday, oh well. They have lost enough games that the second place team is just one win away from tying their record.

The young girls used the golf cart for tripping around the mountain and down to the creek while Nancy and Amy sat on the front porch in the gentle cool breeze which lasted until it was time to close up the cabin for the night. I did some yard work after the game and then the young girls and I took a hike up the backwoods trail just before dusk. Ava made homemade cinnamon rolls from scratch and the smelled delicious. I passed until this AM when I'll have one for breakfast. It wasn't long after dark that it was shower time and then some horizontal lab for me a little after 10. The girls were all watching HGTV when I hit the sack, LATER
