Wednesday Morning June 2nd

Well there was more sunshine today and while it was a chilly start it finally hit the 70 mark again. The Ross Family are having a fun time despite the cool temps to start the day. The kiddos run and play chasing Rocky and him chasing them all over the yards. I wonder where do they get all that energy. Rocky seems a little better with his hind quarter each day but after their romp around the hilly yard you can still see where he favors it while climbing the back porch steps. Starting today we will be his only family as the rest of the clan heads to Tennessee for a week. He seems to have acclimated to us thus far.

The day started with a sleep in until close to 7'ish as we try to keep from waking Rocky whose cage is in the front room. He did eat a lot of sticks and rocks and whatever which gave him a tummy issue so he had a couple throw up's which was basically dry gross stuff and most of what he finds to chew on except for his puppy food. He finally ate a couple bowels of his food last evening instead of the garbage he likes to eat.

Nancy and Amy went over to the Luffman's to pick up some CBD gummy's for his hip and we gave him one last evening. We haven't  taken him to the top yet on a hike in hopes that will help with his healing. The kiddos love this dog like a siblings as do Tyler and Amy. He is so big and full of energy its hard to not to. I took Eliza and Sam down to the creek to play in the cold water despite trying to talk them out of playing in the cold stream. They just love that small body of running water coming out of the mountain springs. I was surprised Steve had to go so deep with his well drilling when a constant flow of water comes right out of the ground not that far from his place, oh well.

We all went over to visit our "mountain mom" Helen for a spell before supper. She was thrilled to get hugs from all of us and especially from Sam who has always sparked her interest from the time he was born. She and Roy held both of our kids when they were just born so that would have been over 40 years of knowing them as family and now she knows our 7 grand kiddo's as well. She is doing remarkably well for nearly 94 years young. We got a group picture with her and the rest of us.

Tyler took the kiddos on a golf cart ride when we got back and I fired up the grill for burgers for supper. After the clean up it was time to watch the NHL playoff game with the Lightning vs Hurricanes in N.C. The Lightning won for the second straight game in a hard fought match and will now head back to Tampa. The Ray's were playing the Yankee's in N.Y. and lost in the 11th inning for only the second time in many weeks. I hit the shower and was soon gone for the night around 10:30, LATER

This beautiful purple Iris has opened for the first time ever and a Lunar moth found the webbing on the porch a great place to rest for the night and the fields around Helen 's Place is growing kale. Ava managed to take the selfie picture of us at Helen's Place.
