Thursday Morning in Florida

Well Wednesday was another hot and humid day that started with me rolling out around 6'ish so I could be on the pickle ball court by 8. I must confess the mornings here are splendid but by noon'ish and after it an inferno and those who have spent the whole summer here say this is a nice break from the heat. I do remember but as I grow older my mind try's to desperately forget working in a uniform out on that hot pavement; yeow, how did I ever do it? Oh well we are looking forward for a couple more weeks of cool weather as we travel back to the cabin on Sunday and some of the fore casted temp's have us down into the low 40's.

I did my usual quiet time then posted this ramble before riding out on my bike for a good 2 hours of pickle ball play. I had a soaked shirt again and then I dropped by to pick up a couple new reads from the library. I headed home and piddled around outside until it was lunch time. Amy, GG and the kiddo's came for lunch. Sam is still a little under the weather and it seems I may have picked up a bug somewhere  as I experienced a lot of phlegm over night with a runny nose. I took an allergy pill thinking maybe it was something I ate or in the air. Anyhow except for the runny nose I didn't feel too bad.

After lunch I headed down to Wal-Mart to pick up my special oil and filter and then headed to Twill Auto where our other house church couple own and run this shop. I had detected a flutter occasionally in the motor at a certain speed and Dan thought it might be a coil going bad on one of the cylinders. Well sure enough after several tests which required road testing they were able to detect which coil was breaking down and replaced it along with changing my oil. It was a hot and humid afternoon and everyone had soaked shirts including me and I was just an observer. We are set to go early Sunday morning and get away from this heat and humidity.

We spoke with our "mountain mom" Helen and she said it's been absolutely beautiful there with lots of sunshine and moderate temps down into the 40's at night with 70's during the days. Oh how I could use a little of that right about now. I got back to the house around 4 and Nancy had a pot of Zuppa Toscano soup on the stove. I know it's in the 90's and we are eating hot soup but Amy and all of her family love this soup as do we so they all came for supper. It was delicious as well.

I think I will give my body a chance to regain some strength and stay away from the courts today as I've been burning the candle so to speak at both ends since we've been back. I certainly don't want to over do it and weaken my immune system with too much exercise as we get ready to head back north. I've played pickle ball 5 times in less than a week since coming back and that's more than I play in over a month in the mountains. It does take a little out of you but oh how I love this game and the exercise for all of the body parts. I think I will piddle around in the yard and garden this morning while it's nice outside before the heat and humidity gets unbearable.

We are heading over to Amy's for one of her special suppers this evening as she has become quite the cook and get a little more grand baby time in with the kiddo's, LATER
