Well Tuesday was a fun and work day as I got in a good workout on the pickle ball court and then some yard and garden work in the afternoon. It's still rather hot here around lunch time until about 3'ish when the on shore breeze starts to cool down the air and makes it great for working outside.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my usual routines that start with the cup of hot green tea laced with fresh ginger root and turmeric while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet time with my Creator giving thanks and lifting up several by name. All is well with those as I've heard nothing to the contrary. It's a lot colder up north than here but it did get into the 50's for a change which is really rather nice when compared to the low 30's at night. We still have the a/c on here despite the cool night temps. I didn't head out to the gym until 9:30 as we A players have the gym from 10 to 12 on Tues. and Thurs. which gives us a break from working in the lesser skilled players during our morning work out but on MWF we only have the gym for 2 hours so we have to play with them, oh well at least we are getting some workout and exercise.
I played hard for an hour and half then gave it up as I'm building back my stamina after this last session of a cold and cough. I'm just about over it but now Nancy is hacking and having a runny nose. I hope she doesn't reinfect me, oh well. She and Amy and Ava went Christmas shopping for clothes for the grand kiddos and then they all came here for lunch and cookie baking. I piddled around in the garden before heading to pickle ball hand feeding all the new seedlings which are quickly becoming plants. I did harvest some kale for the salads and soon will be harvesting lettuces.
I did sow another couple small rows of carrots on the side garden and did notice sugar peas up after just 3-4 days. I want to sow a couple rows of bush beans and then with the new tomato seedlings the gardens will be full of growing veggies. I will plant the cucumbers on the fence which doesn't take up much room and if the half runner make on the other fence I will have every available space planted. I do want to pick up some thyme and parsley for my herb space as well.
Well Nancy made a delicious broccoli soup for our supper which was the best ever. I piddled around in the front yard until dark hoeing weeds and transplanting some grass runners which I hope will take the place of the St. Augustine grasses that died this summer. I have a front yard with mainly weeds and some grass which seems to die in the winter months so I'm raking it out and transplanting some grass sprigs that have run into the shrubs. It was the grass I planted several years ago and is found on golf courses and does well in the heat and less water. I do not know the spelling but it sounds like zoysia grass.
Well that was about it for the day as we get ready for two thanksgiving dinners. Nancy says we must do a turkey the traditional way on Saturday despite eating at Bobby's on Thursday. She wants leftovers so we will eat the bird again just two days later and have the family here again, oh well, LATER
