Well Friday started out with just a slight chill in the air and then quickly warmed up to the 80's and the humidity once more made an appearance. It' s been nice while it lasted but I think we are with the a/c from now on. I started the day with my usual roll out around 6'ish then my usual routine before heading out to the rec after a few quiet moments to reflect and give thanks and a lite breakfast. We had 2 courts in action with mostly advanced pickle ball players and a couple intermediate players who have now moved up to the advanced stage. The wet shirts were in abundance.
I stopped off at the library to return some reads and pick up a couple new ones for the week-end. Nancy was off to her weekly Bible study at SFBC so I decided since no one was coming for lunch that I would drag out the carpet shampooer and clean the carpets. That kept me busy right up until Nancy got home for lunch at noon. After a lite lunch she headed out with GG to the mall so I decided to get in some yard and garden work. I harvested and cleaned romaine lettuce for a Caesar salad we were taking to Amy and Tyler's for supper then I decided to read for a couple hours until it was time to pick up GG and take her with us around 5.
Amy had a pot roast with carrots and onions simmering along with a different version of smashed taters' which were awesome and of course the Caesar salad. Afterwards she served us a layered dessert which has several name but the one that stands out is something better than Robert Redford, oh well. We stayed and visited with the grand kids and watched a few innings of the Ray's game as they battered the Texas Ranger team 8-1. It was a busy fun filled day with a delicious supper. Amy has become quite the cook taking after her mother and grandmother.
Tomorrow we are heading to the beach around 10 and while we are basking in the sun I will have a 10 pound or so pork shoulder in the smoker with hickory chips. We are celebrating with our house church couples, Dan and Carol's 39th wedding anniversary. It should be a fun day of relaxing, eating way too much and playing games, LATER
