Wednesday Morning

Well we felt the effects of Irma as she passed west of us with the wind and rain which was constant through out the night and day. We had over 5 inches of rain which is really uncommon in one sitting. The rain and fog was upon us from daylight to dark and even before and beyond. The kiddo's were getting cabin fever as was I. They finally headed down to the basement for a couple hours where they could run and play to some extent.

Son Bobby called mid morning and he was on the road checking out properties and did go by and check on our place. The power was still off and the freezers on both appliances had thawed the meat so he was able to bag the articles and remove them before they rotted and exploded. He saw the huge power line down in the back yard from the neighbors tree which damaged my shed beyond repair. Hopefully my bike and mower are usable. Lots of the neighbors helped each other picking up limbs and cleaning up yards.

Well it was not only wet but a cold damp so Nancy made a huge pot of vegetable beef soup for our supper which fit the bill nicely on this miserable day; but we were all thankful for the minimal damage to our properties and no injuries. Amy and Tyler are thinking about heading back home on Thursday if power is restored to their neighborhood. It will surely be quiet around with them gone, LATER
