Well Thursday saw us with some really nice rain showers in the late afternoon and evening, mixed in with some lightning and thunder. We sure needed the rain and it did cool things down considerably. We had Nancy's brother Eric and son Matt and a friend John visit from Michigan. They had to finish up the estate of Nancy's mom with an agent here in Seminole. Betsy and Gus were there as well for the meeting. Hopefully that is all settled now and what a fiasco that turned out to be with this financial company.
I started the day with my usual before 6 roll out to a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator. I lifted up several by name for healing and the update on little 5 year old Eli is promising. He is back home with his family after what was originally thought to be a week in the hospital. The rest of my group I lift up daily for healing and comfort are doing well as can be expected due to their health issues. Several are never going to be totally healed unless a miracle happens but with GOD all things are possible and we can only pray in His name.
I got in three hours of great pickle ball play with the last two hours playing with expert players and left whupped to the core at noon. Two days a week we A players have the gym and the caliber of play is tournament style with long rallies. We had some 15-20 ball rallies with exciting play all around. I will miss this type of play after going to the mountains; hopefully I'll be able to play at least once a week there this summer. Amy and Eliza came for lunch and I finished up some leftovers then settled into some reading after hand watering the gardens. Nancy took off with Eric so John and I chatted for a couple hours. We got to know each other and I learned I'm just a couple months older than him. We both are retired from state government jobs which required some some investigative methods; his was more regulatory whereas mine was enforcement. He never married but does have an extended family with ton's of nieces and nephews many which live here in Florida. He has been an Everett Family friend for years teaching many of Eric's kids Latin and other languages.
After they left Betsy and Gus came by and finished up the cookies of which I had a couple but had to force myself not to eat anymore. I picked them a mess of collards and loaded her up with tomato's. They took off just as it began to pour once again. Nancy wanted to go out to Willie Jewels for barbecue so off we went around 7'ish. I had the pulled pork platter with Brunswick stew and fries and she the chicken with slaw and fries. It was very delicious and with a 5 buck off coupon we dined for less than 10 bucks each and brought a third of our meat home for lunch. I'm usually not that crazy about eating big that late of the evening.
I noticed the box scores and the Ray's beat the Royals to wind up that series in Kansas City. I tuned into the Fox Cable news and the dem's are in a tizzy with their biased msm failed effort to discredit this Potus and the folks of this nation are really seeing what a corrupt bunch we have in the swamp that needs draining and I think this new AG Barr is going to do just that. The talking heads in the DNC are in collusion with CNN and MSNBC as they are ALL saying the same thing that Barr is the problem. They always accuse those they disagree with what they are actually guilty of doing. It's no wonder our Potus tweets what he is actually doing because the biased msm will never report the facts and while some think he is too bombastic I think he is right on with telling it like it is.
