Friday Morning Dec.13th

Well Thursday was a fun morning with nearly 3 hours of pickle ball with about half of the time outside due to the enormous amount of players inside the gym and then when they cleared out we headed inside for another couple matches. It was a bit trying outside as we did have a slight breeze which made for some tricky shots playing with and against the breeze as well as the sunshine. It's a totally different game outside as the visibility is great but a more dink and dunk soft game. I do believe we have longer rallies but anyway it was a grand workout. After lunch I worked outside until dark in the gardens and yards.

I started the day with my usual before 6 rollout which found me in the spare bedroom once again after midnight as Nancy had her motor running. I've decided instead of trying to get her to wake up and turn over its just easier to get up and move to the other bedroom. I'll probably get little sleep tonight as we have a grand kiddo sleep over so I'll just have to stick it out with her snoring, oh well. The temps here have been a little above average but still its not too hot to work out side. I planted two more rows of carrots and radishes. I mowed both front and back yards and pulled some more weeds in the front side yards.

I did my usual morning routines that include some quiet time with my Creator and Lord lifting up several and giving thanks. It seems my uncle Junior is having some kidney issues and will start dialysis so he is added to the prayer list along with several others. So far everyone is holding their own as I've heard nothing to the contrary. It's cold up north especially at the cabin where its been in the 20's after a rather warm spell. I think there is a chance for some snow coming this weekend. We are supposed to get a cool front with some rain as we could use. I spoke with neighbor Gerald at the cabin and he is planning on selling out his place next door to me. He has been such a great neighbor and a friend for the last 20 years or close to it and will be greatly missed. He has a beautiful modern cabin and close to 3 acres with a full garage/work shop as well as a small rustic cabin on the lower section of his land, if anyone is interested let me know before he lists it with a realtor.

I grilled marinated chicken breast for our supper and afterwards we settled into some of the Fox Cable news before I headed in to watch the Lightning plays Boston. We won 3-2 over a really tough team which now has us winning for the fourth time in a row. I'm glad they are winning again. Nancy was in the kitchen all day making cookies, a cheesecake for our Life Group on Saturday night and then cookie dough for the grand's to cut out, decorate and bake on Saturday. I tried a couple cookies and they were superb for dessert. This is the time of the year she also bakes and gives away to neighbors, the postman, garbage folks, etc. I'm hoping to stay away from them as much as possible. With all of this extra pickle ball and yard and garden work I'm staying down close to 185 which for me is great. I still have a roll around the middle but not nearly as noticeable as when we got back from the cabin.

Well thats about it for now as we get ready to head out to Keswick School for Eliza and Sam's Christmas program around 8:30; so no pickle ball today, LATER
