Well Sunday was a great day of worship both here at home on line and then again at our local church. Nancy was under the weather and stayed home, so I worked the front doors as a greeter, welcoming many with hugs and handshakes. We had just the one service and we had a great group of close to 800 in attendance who heard a great message on "perseverance". That usually means dealing with issues mostly beyond our control. I got to meet up with several who along with myself have been dealing with that very issue and we have managed to weather those storms and honor GOD with our presence in corporate worship.
I started the day with a well before 6 rollout to my routines that begin with some quiet times to honor my lord, Jesus, to give thanks for another day and to lift up several by name for comfort and healing. All seem to be holding and I just learned where a first cousin of mine had open heart surgery and is now back home on the mend. Keep Dixie in your thoughts and prayers for complete recovery. I must say its amazing how our medical society can diagnose and then repair the many health issues we face at a moments notice. I'm almost totally healed and I'm raring to get back on the pickle ball court and start getting back in to shape or at least lose a couple of pounds and build back some stamina.
It looked cloudy around the area and Tampa did get some lite rain in the afternoon, but before dark it really poured here at home which was much needed. I had some leftovers for lunch and then settled into the NFL games and the Bucs acted like a real football team with both areas of the team showing up to play. They ended up beating the Panthers 40-14 after at one time being down 14-7 in the first half. Many of our extended family was in attendance. The Lightning got blown out after blowing out a different team on Saturday, so I was switching back and forth between the football and hockey, both of which I like. We had some bean burritos for our supper which is always a fav of mine as we load them up with fresh onions, jalapeno pepper, sour cream and cheese with some taco sauce, yeow delicious on a tortilla.
I headed into the bedroom to watch the late game, so Nancy could watch her new HGTV shows and it was a good game which benefitted the Bucs in the overtime loss by the Falcons to the old Redskin team in D.C. The Falcons had the edge on the Bucs with two wins during the season so it was a must the Bucs win and they lose if they want to win the division. Truthfully I've happy the Bucs will be in the playoffs but I do not expect them to go far because of their inept play at times, but who knows as on any given day any team could win. Later today Monday we head to Keswick to watch the finals in the girls basketball tournament. I doubt Ava will be released to play due to her back issues. We will make a trip to Sam's Club for some New Year eve's goodies as we celebrate with friends at our neighbor Dan and Carol's place. Its hard to believe another year has gone by so quickly, LATER
