Well Tuesday was a typical Florida winter day with temps in the middle 70's, lots of sunshine and a nice gentle breeze. The humidity has stayed away once again for another couple days but that could change suddenly with another front moving into the area today. So far the last couple of days its been just beautiful weather and the gardens love it. Nancy was gone all evening as she took her mom, GG to see Josh Grogan in Clearwater along with 2200 hundred other folks. It was close to midnight by the time she got back to the house.
I started the day with my usual before 6 roll out and then a few quiet moments with my Creator to humble myself and honor him and to lift up those I know in need of some thoughts and prayers. After the posting of this ramble I got ready to ride my bike out to the Rec. for nearly two hours of pickle ball. Once again we had the challenge court and my game was on again today with me and whoever I partnered with winning. I had a soaked shirt by the time I left around 10 AM. We had a couple new players from the Maryland area who were visiting and they played very well. Hopefully they will come back again.
I made a stop at the library before heading home to hand water and feed my new lettuce seedlings and then I picked a nice mess of lettuces for my neighbor along with some green beans and sugar peas. The peas are loving these cool nights and warm to hot afternoons but the sandy soil drys out so quickly despite all of the composted material that I'm back to two a day watering. I have several new bell peppers the size of golf balls and I picked a nice size jalapeno pepper for salsa tonight that we will take to the Tracy's for supper along with some guacamole. The cucumber seedlings have added another leaf so thats a good sign. I need to give away more collards as they are rapidly producing. I break off the the lower leaves and they continue to grow from the middle out and up insuring me a constant growth of leaves. I have two cabbages left which are huge and still look great despite their size.
Amy and Eliza came for lunch as GG was with one of her singing friends. I made a guacamole as I had two avocado's that needed using and I actually loaded a wrap with the guacamole along with some kale and called that my lunch. For supper I grilled a couple bone in pork chops slathered with fresh rosemary and we had fresh asparagus and a herb rice. Nancy had to leave early for the concert so we ate at 5. I did the clean up and after she left for the evening I tuned into to watch Penny Fallon who is the wife of my former nephew Bruce, who I helped to raise when he was in high school while his dad was overseas in the military. She was the big winner on wheel of fortune with winnings of over 17 thousand dollars. We met her a few years ago when they were first married as he comes around once in a great while to visit when they came to Florida to visit his dad, Bruce, Sr. Sr. has now moved to N.C. to be near his daughter Sandy Keys and her three children who are all now grown as well. Bruce and his first wife were divorced so Jr. came to live with me when I first was hired by the patrol in 1974. Where did that time go??
Well it looks as if Trump is shaking up the establishment in D.C. and the GOP. He won big again last night in the primary and the folks are fed up with the lack of consistency in politics and this inept administration. Middle America is suffering and this revolution by the voters is taking hold and the big money folks, special interests and lobbyist had better wake up. The voters are fed up and its showing in this mans winning who I don't think he is the best presidential material but at least he is causing the country to see what has happened to our politics and I will back him if he gets the nomination. We can not stand 4 more years of the Clinton debacle of continuing this potus and his programs, LATER
