Well it was another hot muggy day here in Central Florida with 80 to start the morning at 6 'ish and then somewhere in the mid 90's with the humidity close to 100%. We didn't get any rain as the sun was bright and the skies mostly clear. My internal alarm is back to working properly after a decent night's sleep since we got back from Virginia. The old bum knee is still not totally ready for a pickle ball workout but it didn't bother me while doing yard work as the ground here is level.
I managed to sweat off a couple pounds while clipping the shrubs, trimming the bushes and once again pulling weeds from the garden. Today, Thursday I will work on the side garden as the weeds have really taken over. That a good sign the ground is still fertile and I will use the weeds as mulch and eventually they will add nutrients to the soil. Just as I finished the morning work I noticed a large raccoon came trolling through the back yard. It climbed the fences then headed into the back yards of the hood, yikes that was a surprise as they usually are nocturnal creatures. I don't think I've ever seen one in the daytime in the mountains but saw one around noon here in the hood.
Amy and Eliza(LeLe as she is nicknamed) came for lunch. She is just so cute and is learning different words to say. She loves this one cartoon about an elephant, giraffe, bird and snake with all of the scenarios of the snake trying to catch the bird which rides on the elephant. She squeals with delight when she hears the music while sitting on my lap. She will sit for nearly a half hour watching these characters of which Amy says she never does at home. She and I have jelled as buddies and she jabbers about some things when playing with toys. We will miss her so much when we leave for our trip. Speaking of the trip today we will check in the 24 hours before lift off for our boarding passes. We have suitcases ready to be filled for the next 2 weeks of being away and Nancy is at a dilemma with what to take in case she might need something, oh well!!!
I chilled in the afternoon watching some US Open tennis and saw some good play as well as watched the Ray's win big in Detroit. I think they are out of the playoff picture unless we get some help from other teams despite at times playing good ball. At least we have the football season to help ease the pain of not getting into the post season. Well we finished up the leftovers for supper and I must say the produce we brought back from the cabin is a big hit. The 'maters and cukes are still tasty and we will give away more when we leave on Friday. Tonight we are having a family dinner with most everyone here but without Bobby and his kiddos, LATER
I forgot to mention the purple orchids are in full bloom and just gorgeous. Mine have been under this huge vine that was grown over most of the orchid but that seemed to help with their growth. Neighbor Carol was over for a visit and her orchids I started for her have yet to bloom but have several buds. I have 20 some flowers on one pot and the color is magnificent and the only thing growing beside weeds in the garden was my Rosemary plant which is as big as a bushel basket.
I almost forgot to mention this month's special from our team leaders at Amway. All Artistry products are BOGO and while this seems it's mainly for women with their skin care, make up, etc there is now new skin care products for men as well. Check it out and remember Bogo cuts the price in half or gives you double for your money. Check out our store at www.amway.com/JNTriplett. This offer comes from our team leaders only as is good for the month of September. If you want to become a special customer with our store let me know for additional saving as well. Our own Miss America is the spokesperson for the Artistry Products which are distributed by Amway. Nancy uses them totally and loves the results.
