Tuesday Morning July 12th

Well Monday morning saw the last of our family on my side leave for Woodstock, Va. It had been a week since they had arrived and it was filled with good times, fine eatin' and lots of card games. We so enjoy Dee and Mike and they will be back sometime in September for another visit.

After they left we got busy and stripped beds, did laundry and vacuumed the whole house as their daughter and family were also here over the weekend with two dogs that slept in the basement and one shed really bad. So we kept busy until lunch time and then took a hike before eating. This was Nancy's first hike up the mountain in weeks and she did really well after having her heels and achilles being sore. We are heading down to the mountain to see a foot doctor this afternoon which will tell her just what I told her; rest, ice, elevate and compress the achilles and the gradually reintroduce hiking which we did yesterday. My opinion has no merit for her, oh well.

We came back and had a sandwich for lunch and then I piddled around in the garden and harvested my garlic bed. I got some really nice heads and put them out to dry and will once they have dried shell them into individual kernels. I did harvest a couple radishes and some oregano for my sandwich which was excellent. For supper we finished up the ribs and had a nice garden salad. I did do some deck reading now that I have the umbrella as the outside temps were on the cool side but under the umbrella it was warm and shaded.

I potted up a couple tomato volunteers from the compost pile as the one Roma volunteer I brought from Florida is not looking good. It has fruit as large as golf balls but the leaves are turning dark, oh well. We took a golf cart ride to the mailbox and then to the top of the mountain after supper and then I tuned into the Ray's game and they were winning when I hit the shower and then the bed around 10'ish. The old back is still suffering a little but I slept decently. I twisted it or over did some exercise and its a bit stiff and painful, LATER
